voters are encouraged to register as early as possible in advance of the State Primary (August 6th, 2024) and the Presidential (November 5, 2024) elections.
The deadline to register online, by mail, or in person for the State Primary election is MONDAY July 22nd.
Beginning Tuesday July 23rd through Election Day, voters may only register by visiting their local clerk’s office to register in person with proof of residency documentation.
In order to register to vote in Michigan, an individual must:
☑ Be a Michigan resident
☑ Be a United States citizen
☑ 17.5 years of age and 18 by Election Day to vote (eligible 16- and 17-year-olds can pre-register to vote)
☑ Not be currently serving a sentence in jail or prison
