This survey is part of the City of Detroit's efforts to ensure we maintain a Corktown for everyone. The City of Detroit received federal Choice Neighborhoods Initiative grants to help protect and grow affordable housing, promote connectivity between Historic and North Corktown, and provide supportive services to residents in Clement Kern Gardens. The ultimate goal of the Choice Neighborhoods Program is to create a more inclusive and equitable Corktown and one that is safe and welcoming for residents of all ages while providing significant quality of life improvements including safer streets, beautified parks/open spaces, places to shop and eat, and quality housing.

They use entrepreneur training, business support services, and micro-lending in Detroit to support local entrepreneurs and stabilize neighborhood economies. Chanell Scott Contreras, executive director of ProsperUS, was rightfully chosen as the Leader of the Year by the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan last year. By helping them to analyze their programs, we help to ensure that their service delivery is effective and serves the needs of the community.

Meet Greg Matthews!

Greg became the Managing Director of JFM Consulting Group in 2021, bringing 18 years of experience in social science research and consulting. Greg applies his expertise in research study design, data analysis, measurement, and evaluation to support client missions. He has applied a variety of methods to uncover new insights, including survey research, focus groups, interviews, and secondary data analysis. His work has also spanned a wide range of topics, including health disparities, violence prevention, marriage, fatherhood, and early childhood education. Greg holds a M.A. and has completed Ph.D.-level study of Sociology at the University of Washington in Seattle. He also holds a B.A. in Anthropology/Sociology from Rhodes College in Memphis.
