As a small business owner, it is a privilege to represent the Wayne County’s entrepreneurial community and work alongside leaders from across our state to help strengthen and advocate for Michigan’s small businesses.

What. A. Day. 🙌🏾✨

Day #1 of Essence did not disappoint!

There is nothing like the electric, soul-stirring energy of Essence Festival! It is a powerful celebration of culture, community, and Black excellence in its purest form. I am beyond honored to have taken the stage as both a speaker and moderator, leading the conversation “Protect Your Business Like a CEO: What Every Entrepreneur Should Know About Risk, Insurance, and Growth”

We dove deep into what every entrepreneur needs to embrace: protecting your business is not just about insurance, it is about stepping fully into your power as a leader. We explored real strategies for sustainability, smart risk management, and building businesses that are designed to thrive, evolve, and stand strong through anything.

We talked about owning your structure, understanding your contracts, and creating systems that honor your vision and legacy.

The panel that followed was rich, honest, and full of truth. It was a beautiful exchange of stories, lessons, victories, and growth. I was deeply inspired by the brilliance in the room, from the founders who shared their journeys to every person who showed up ready to learn, connect, and elevate.

And after the sessions… the Essence magic kept flowing! The convention center was alive with joy, laughter, connection, and culture. I met incredible people, built new relationships, and soaked in an atmosphere that felt like home. The energy was undeniable, the conversations were powerful, and the sense of community was everything.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, poured into the space, asked meaningful questions, and shared your light. My heart is overflowing. I have a renewed purpose, deeper connections, and an even stronger commitment to helping entrepreneurs build businesses that are protected, sustainable, and built to last for generations.
