The nation’s largest urban equestrian center is taking shape on the west side of Detroit! Check out this recent construction pic and final design rendering of Detroit Horse Power’s forthcoming new home at the corner of Linwood and Fenkell 😍

On Friday, August 21, DHP's founder David Silver will share an update during commmunity lunch at the Green Garage. Join us then to learn how DHP's new green building will support their great work helping Detroit youth build critical life skills through the care and riding of horses.

Check out our latest blog post, in which we recap the great conversation about Detroit summers we had during last week's community lunch ☀️

Our inspiration was the publication of "Black Summers," a new anthology from Wayne State University Press that features contributions by longtime Green Garage community members Keith Owens and Pamela Hilliard Owens.

During our August 7 community lunch, we were insipred by the book "Black Summers" to hold a community conversation about summer in Detroit.

We were delighted to welcome a great group of sustainability-minded students and faculty from Wayne State, Iowa State University, and Hochschule Harz and Hochschule Ruhr West in Germany today!

They’re working together in Detroit to tackle real-world sustainability challenges as part of the Transatlantic Summer School in Sustainability. We’re grateful for the opportunity to share our green approach to historic building renovation and connect with friends from near and far who are working for a more sustainable future for our planet! 🌎

Jennifer Washington is committed to celebrating Detroit’s legacy as the birthplace of techno. What better time than Movement weekend to welcome her as the newest member of the Green Garage virtual office community?! 🎧🎛️🎹

Check out her film “God Said Give ‘Em Drum Machines” this Friday night at Campus Martius! It’s being screened during a free pre-Movement event that includes speakers, guided movement, a mindfulness session, a DJ set, and more.

Tonight’s event is all part of the Electric Roots Film, Music and Arts Festival, a global celebration of Black electronic music, cinema, and culture, with in-person and online events taking place through June! Check out the link below for more—and happy Movement! ⚡️
