May is World Trade Month, a timely occasion to reflect on what international trade actually means for economic health, opportunity, and long-term stability.

At its core, trade is a growth engine.

When businesses cross borders, they access new markets, diversify revenue, and reduce their vulnerability to domestic economic fluctuations. When nations trade, they build interdependencies that can stabilize economies during periods of local disruption. And when trade systems are designed with inclusion in mind, they create pathways to prosperity for populations that have historically been locked out of the global marketplace.
