Unfortunately, every year we witness students and families experience what it means to have a financial balance when starting school.

It doesn’t help that the options for student loans have become stricter. This is where we come in.

Instead of rushing to get into more student loan debt, we encourage and support students to take a step back to apply for free money and prepare for a future with less debt.

Parents — here’s something most people don’t know about Parent PLUS loans. Your student has access to RAP, the new income-based repayment plan. You don’t. Parent PLUS borrowers are limited to the Tiered Standard Plan only if borrowing after July 1st— a fixed payment that doesn’t adjust for job loss, income changes, or retirement. Know this BEFORE you borrow, not after. Full breakdown in our new YouTube video.👇

Parents: the Parent PLUS interest rate for 2026–27 is 9.07% — fixed, plus a 4.228% origination fee taken off the top. That’s HIGHER than the rate your own student pays on their federal loans (6.52%). Borrow $20K and you could owe $9-10K in interest alone. Run the numbers before you sign — full breakdown in my bio. 👇

Have you done a financial aid appeal?

Many students don’t realize that they are leaving money on the table - just because they haven’t asked for more.

Your families financial status may have changed from the tax year used to file your FAFSA (which is 2 years ago). So it there was income/job loss, medical expenses or unfortunate family loss - so can ask for a review.

Also, if another school that is similar to your 1st choice offers you more - you can also appeal.

You know what they say - closed mouths don’t get fed.
Make the call today.

BE IN THE KNOW!
The new law (One Big Beautiful Bill) created new loan limits for students, grad students and parents.

Undergraduate students: Annual limits did not change for Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans BUT there is now new lifetime limits (total amount of loans) one can take out.

Graduate Students: The Grad Direct PLUS Loans have been eliminated. So now you only have access to Direct Unsubsidized Loans starting July 1. There is also loan limits based on what you are studying with the distinction between graduate programs and professional degree programs.

Parents: Starting July 1, you also have new borrowing limits per year, and new lifetime limit per child.

College is not out of reach - it just means a strategic plan is necessary.
