My feature with Voyage Michigan is now LIVE!

It was genuinely a pleasure to reflect on the woman behind the psychologist, the journey of building Tailored Clinical Services, and why I believe meaningful growth requires more than learning how to manage everything life throws our way.

This perspective is at the heart of the work we do at Tailored Clinical Services PLLC. We help women look beyond their symptoms, understand the pattern shaping their lives, and create meaningful change at their own pace.

Teachers don’t need another reminder to “practice self-care.” They need space to put something DOWN. 🎒

I recently had the opportunity to lead a professional development Warrendale Charter Academy on burnout, compassion fatigue, boundaries, and regulation
—because the people caring for our children deserve to be cared for, too.

Sometimes the answer isn’t adding another coping skill to an already full plate. Sometimes we need to acknowledge what’s on the plate, decide what still belongs there, and give ourselves permission to move some things off.

Because regulated, supported educators are better equipped to create regulated, supported classrooms.

and still not feel known.

Because belonging isn’t just about having people around you. It’s having spaces where you can take off the roles, loosen the expectations, be vulnerable, and still feel safe enough to be seen.

I had the opportunity to talk with SCETV’s Safe Space about vulnerability, belonging, community—and why the relationships we build matter so much to our emotional wellness.

And I keep coming back to this:

We all need somewhere we don’t have to perform to belong.

Before earning my doctoral degree, I was a PhD student working as a graduate assistant for Dr. Cheryl Munday’s undergraduate courses. As time progressed, Dr. Munday served as my thesis supervisor, clinical supervisor, and dissertation chair.

As women excel in their career and life— it is so important to share encouragement, guidance, and support to those coming up behind you. This was one role she served in my life. When Dr. Munday invited me to co-facilitate a workshop with her after 12 years of receiving so much valuable support, it was an automatic YES! I was honored to spend time with Warrior Women Against Poverty mentees and members.

We discussed self-sufficiency as a dimensional construct. Of course it is important to rely on self, yet, it is just as important to know when to be resourceful, transform independence to interdependence, and receive support from those in our community.

Dr. Munday and I not only had the privilege to speak about concepts we’ve studied, but model a learned practice through our relationship. It was a privilege to witness the openness and honest of everyone in the room.

Thank you for inviting me to speak to your members & mentees. You all are doing such impactful and meaningful work to strengthen the community. The room was filled with giants in the community— and it’s such a wonderful sight to see women who look like you— displaying excellence.

We hosted Unlock: The Mother Daughter Conversation at Brix W**e two weeks ago!

A few of the questions posed by mothers and daughters was “How do I keep the peace and not silence myself in the relationship? How do I navigate the relationship if my mother is emotionally immature? How do I navigate boundaries with my mother?”

These questions are all important. As we age the relationship evolves as well. Some of us remain stuck in old patterns and have difficulty establishing a new one.

The old patterns increase the distance and the moments you would normally speak up, there’s silence. This is when emotional distance creeps into the relationship.
