There’s something powerful that happens when intention meets action.
Last Wednesday evening, I had the opportunity to join entrepreneurial extraordinaire Lysa Davis as she launched the first session of Henry Ford College’s Money Moves: The Entrepreneur Workshop Series. The room was filled with aspiring entrepreneurs, small business owners, students, and dreamers who all shared one thing in common—a desire to learn how to turn ideas into sustainable revenue.
What stood out most wasn't just the information shared. It was the engagement.
Participants leaned in, asked thoughtful questions, challenged assumptions, and willingly practiced the uncomfortable but necessary skills of entrepreneurship—identifying customers, pricing for profit, selling with confidence, and instructions on how to craft a compelling pitch (we ran out of time to actually construct our individual pitches).
Too often, entrepreneurs focus on perfecting the product while avoiding the conversation about sales. Yet businesses don't survive on great ideas alone. They survive when value is clearly communicated and customers are willing to invest in the solution.
Lysa reminded us that selling isn't about convincing people to buy. It's about understanding a problem, providing a solution, and building relationships rooted in trust.
As someone who works with entrepreneurs through TYME Consulting's T3 Framework (Truth, Trust, and Transparency), I appreciated seeing these principles come alive throughout the workshop. The most successful businesses are often built by leaders who are willing to be authentic, intentional, and committed to serving others.
Thank you to Henry Ford College and Lysa Davis for creating a space where entrepreneurs can sharpen their skills, expand their thinking, and move one step closer to building businesses that not only survive—but thrive.
The lesson of the evening: Revenue doesn't happen by accident. It happens when preparation, confidence, and intentional action come together.
