Steven Maynes and I have been overwhelmed with support from friends and family this week! I know people have been sharing a lot of photos and videos of the tornado Damage in Greenfield. This one struck me as they fly over and give a direct aerial view of Steve’s parents house. This is yesterday when we started debris removal. Most of the week was sifting and looking for personal items and salvageable memories. This is when it started leaving really making the chaos start to look like progress was happening. We have told many that although his parents lost EVERYTHING we are some of the luckiest ones. Fortunate to have access to the heavy equipment needed, blessed with many hands and hearts to make the wheels moving on progress.

Butch has a very promising day yesterday and is meeting milestones in his recovery. To my surprise he can account for most every minute of the storm and details that you wouldn’t think he would with his injuries. He is strong and more over too stubborn to let the tornado win.
Hoping that everyone in Greenfield is starting to see some silver lining. Our thank you list is as long as the task list ahead. We owe so much to people we don’t even know. Faces we never saw, names we never knew. Prayers that were offered by strangers. Food passed out my friends, companies that halted their pocket books for some good whole hearted Iowan love to a community in need Our Hands are tired, our voicemails are full- but our hearts are overflowing with gratitude ❤️
