👥 Investing in People: We’ve hired 3 key team members in the last two years and have added 2 more to our ranks this year.

50 YEARS OF ALPHA METAL FINISHING: THROWBACK TO THE 1980s! 📼⚡
As we continue celebrating our 50th anniversary, this week we are hopping into our metaphorical DeLorean and throwing it all the way back to the decade of big hair, neon colors, cassette tapes, and classic arcade games—the 1980s! The '80s wasn't just a fun era for pop culture; it was a decade of massive, foundational transformation for Alpha Metal Finishing.

Technology was booming, and our metal finishing expertise was right at the center of the digital revolution. Here is how we rocked the 1980s:

🖥️ The Tech Boom: We experienced significant, game-changing growth when we secured jobs for IBM computer chip projects, providing the precise finishing work needed for the early digital age.

🚚 The Big Move (1985/1986): To expand our operations and handle larger volumes, we officially packed up and moved into a new facility in Dexter, MI.

👥 Expanding the Team: With our new Dexter location and a booming workload, we began rapidly adding to our production lines and bringing on more talented employees.

From finishing early computer components to serving advanced industries today, we are so incredibly proud of our Michigan roots and the journey that got us to 50 years.

In 1976, Bob Wood founded Alpha Metal Finishing with a vision for a company built on faith, integrity, and excellence. Since 2010, that same vision has been carried forward by his son, Greg.

The finishing industry has changed significantly since 1976. But when it comes to what is most important—valuing our team and doing right by the customer—these values have been passed down from father to son and we continue to carry them forward.

We’re proud of where we started, and excited about where we’re going.
