Today is 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗟𝗗 𝗘𝗟𝗗𝗘𝗥 𝗔𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗬, a global reminder that every older person in our community deserves to feel safe and respected. Elder abuse can take many forms, including physical, emotional, and financial, and far too often, it happens in silence. 𖣘💜 In honor of , purple pinwheels will be installed on Lackawanna County Courthouse Square, 200 N. Washington Ave., today from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 𖣘💜
Remember, we can all play a part in protecting our seniors:
💜 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗰𝗸 𝗶𝗻: Regularly call or visit elderly family members, friends, and neighbors.
💜 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀: Notice sudden changes in mood, missing belongings, or unexplained injuries.
💜 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝘂𝗽: If you suspect neglect or abuse, don't stay silent.
