The place where it all started back in 2014: Hole in the Sky Disc Golf Course in Eagle, Colorado. Our first ever course design.
This redesign opportunity arose in coordination with Eagle County Government (owners of the property at the Eagle County Fairgrounds) and the Flying Eagle Disc Society disc golf club.
After years of neglect, the only year-round, 18-hole course in Eagle County was transformed to make it more fun, challenging and, most importantly, safe. As the grounds are mostly open and flat with only a smattering of trees, the biggest challenge came from making the most of its existing features, primarily proximity to the Eagle River, to get the most out of what was available.
Incredible volunteer work from the club resulted in the addition of full-size concrete tees, comprehensive tee signs, additional pin positions, two practice baskets, a warmup driving net and an information kiosk. A few years later, the county also purchased brand new Latitude 64 baskets for the course.
After almost 10 years HITS has stood the test of time. Club members continue to step up in keeping it maintained and it plays host to the majority of the FEDS summer league play.
