Over the past 6 years, Big Sky SkiMo has grown from a wild hair idea into a something of family. From the racers, to the ski area owners/operators, staff, family and friends, we’ve built a community that spans the state of Montana and beyond. We’ve gotten to make new friends with ski areas who have graciously opened their doors and their hearts to the SkiMo community.

This photo was taken by Cory Birkenbuel at Maverick Mountain and shows a little of what the fire has done to the little ski hill that over the past two years, Big Sky SkiMo has got to call home. The photo shows something more, it shows that even through disaster, something remains, and from that we can help rebuild. The Friends of Maverick Mountain have started raising money to do just that, help Maverick rebuild. Please take a minute to help out in whatever way you can. The Dillon Jaycees launched a fundraiser to help rebuild Maverick Mountain, with estimated repair costs as high as $2.5 million, and musician Tim Montana announced a weekend show and fundraiser. ⤵️ Find a link to the story in the comments.

Let’s raise some money for our neighbors who lost their ski lift from the wildfires. If anyone wants to donate items to the auction please let me know! This is a locally owned ski hill that means so much to our community and our kids.
