A Special Piece of Silver Lake Tavern History ❤️
Yesterday morning, two wonderful ladies stopped in for a drink, and what started as a casual introduction turned into a very special visit.
I learned that they are the daughter and granddaughter of the 3rd owners of this property, back when it was known as Gladys & Ed's. At that time, it wasn't just a bar—it was also a convenience store that served the local community.
It was such a pleasure to hear their stories and learn more about the history of this place. The best part came later when they sent me an incredible old photograph from the Gladys & Ed's days. Seeing a glimpse of the building's past and the people who helped make it a community gathering place was truly priceless.
Moments like these remind me that Silver Lake Tavern is more than just a business. It's a place with deep roots, generations of memories, and a story that continues to be written.
Thank you for stopping by, sharing your family's connection to this place, and helping preserve a piece of local history. ❤️
Does anyone remember Gladys & Ed's when it was both a convenience store and a bar? We'd love to hear your memories in the comments!
