EWCC LLC recently had the opportunity to collaborate with Sylvia Bowman of CertiFloor, who provided consultation services for us on a project involving a historic church built in 1840 with a 1930 addition. The building presents significant moisture challenges within the subsurfaces and subflooring, and Sylvia’s expertise proved exceptionally valuable. She identified critical issues, explained viable solutions, and provided clear guidance on the most effective approaches for addressing them. Her depth of knowledge—particularly regarding how moisture in concrete affects flooring adhesion—along with her ability to ask insightful, targeted questions, will be extremely useful when decisions need to be made about appropriate flooring options. It is our privilege for our team to support a local church by conducting a comprehensive building‑systems assessment of its older facility. EWCC is in the business of helping clients save money!
We had an opportunity to work with a client who had a non-functioning older generator with parts that were no longer manufactured or available. They had written off the generator after 18 months as unrepairable, then placed a call to EWCC to price a replacement generator. The cost for the new generator was $110k, not including labor for installation or removal of the faulty generator. While the owner was seeing avenues of procurement, EWCC was investigating the possibility of other avenues of repair.
We found a local generator supplier willing to investigate the unit and found they were able to replace the faulty system. EWCC was able to bring in the repair cost at approximately $8k, saving the client $102k plus labor for removal and installation, as well as months of downtime.
We have had many opportunities to save clients money by looking at problems from a different perspective!
