Notice of Public Hearing

06/07/2026

Good Morning!
We would like to let the local businesses and community partners know, starting Monday, June 8, 2026 Community Safety Net will be calling around in reference getting donations for fire safety books for children. Rest assured, this is not a scam. Community Safety Net books focus on providing educational safety resources, particularly for families and children. These materials cover a range of topics from fire safety, drug safety, personal safety, and rural safety, aiming to equip children with knowledge and skills to stay safe. Books are purchased solely on donations from businesses and other community partners. Firefighters hand out fire safety books starting with 3rd graders during Fire Prevention Week in October, as we have different activities for Pre-School - 2nd grade. We have great faith in this program and have been involved with Community Safety Net for a few years. 🚒 🧯 🔥 👨‍🚒

For more information and/or to donate online, please visit - https://communitysafetynet.com/leaders/dixon-rural-fire-protection-district/

Thank you so much for your past and present support!

While on the structure fire on Cambridge Ln, we had some trees catch fire. One in particular was close to the house with branches extending over.

We would like to extend our gratitude to the call out crew at Gascosage for responding and assisting with removing these branches over the residence.

The other night the dept had a structure fire in the 17000 block of Cambridge Ln. We would like to extend our gratitude to the mutual aid departments that assisted us in putting out the fire as well for water support.

An unseasonably warm and dry airmass with low afternoon humidity values in the 20% range in addition to dry to very dry grass conditions will result in an elevated fire risk today and again on Sunday.

02/24/2026

Gusty southwest winds and low humidity will create elevated to significant fire danger across the area on Tuesday. Afternoon temperatures will warm into the upper 50s to lower 60s. Due to the danger, outside burning is discouraged except by experienced fire personnel.
