Last night at 23:06 your Central Surry Volunteers along with Pine Ridge were dispatched to Interstate 77 for reports of a MVA involving a tractor trailer. Units arrived to find a tractor trailer overturned and into the woods and another truck and trailer involved. All patients were free of the vehicles. Units stayed on scene for several hours to assist with shutting down a lane of travel for the towing companies to safely work. Thank you to everyone who responded from all agencies.

As a reminder, if you see emergency vehicles operating on a scene, please move over and slow down.

Today at 12:00 your Central Surry firefighters were dispatched to reports of a machine fire. Units arrived to find a working fire in a piece of heavy machinery. Units quickly brought the fire under control. Once the fire was under control personnel found a fuel leak from the machine and notified Surry County Hazmat. Hazmat handled containment and cleanup efforts. Thank you to South Surry as well for the assistance with a tanker! Great work by all.
