During this time of National Shutdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic, communities may start to see ISO begin to try and implement ratings solely in an electronic format, eliminating in-person site visits entirely. While this may be necessary for the current state of the nation, it will not be beneficial for the communities that respond this way. My recommendation to all communities that are being approached by ISO to eliminate the face-to-face review, is to request to ISO that you wish to pursue any rating information on a face-to-face basis when the times once again allow for them to be an option.

Without a face-to-face interaction, communities will simply have no ability to determine how, or why, they scored the way they did once the rating returns.

To delay a rating 6 months to a year is not an issue, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
