Today, 11 members of the Doniphan Volunteer Fire Department passed the practical skills examination for their Firefighter I certification!

Firefighter I training provides firefighters with the foundational knowledge and hands-on skills needed to operate safely and effectively at emergency scenes. The training covers areas such as personal protective equipment, self-contained breathing apparatus, fire behavior, hose handling, ladders, search and rescue, ventilation, forcible entry, and fire suppression.

Preparing for this examination required a significant commitment of time outside of their regular jobs, families, and other responsibilities. We are proud of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to serving our community.

Thank you Anheuser-Busch and National Volunteer Fire Council for the generous donation of emergency drinking water, and to
Eagle Distributing of Nebraska for delivering it to our fire station!This water will help keep our firefighters hydrated during wildfires and extended responses in extreme heat. The donation is provided through Anheuser-Busch’s Emergency Drinking Water for Wildland Firefighters program, which supports volunteer departments with critical hydration resources during wildfire season.
