MRPC in conjunction with Homeland Security is hosting a CPR abbreviated course. It does not give your certification, but it does give you training in the case of an emergency that might just save someone’s life. It would be great for grandparents watching grandkids, or really anyone that just needs the basic know how!

🚨 IMMEDIATE OPENING — DRFPD BOARD TREASURER 🚨

The DRFPD is currently seeking a dedicated individual to immediately fill the position of Board Treasurer. This is a completely volunteer position, but it is absolutely critical to the continued operation and financial oversight of the District.

The Treasurer plays an essential role in helping oversee the District’s annual budget of approximately $195,000, along with financial records, reporting, accountability, and long-term fiscal planning while working alongside the Board and District leadership.

Board meetings are held once per month on the second Tuesday at 6:30 PM.

We are looking for someone who:
• Is trustworthy and dependable
• Has strong organizational skills
• Is comfortable reviewing financial information and budgets
• Wants to support and strengthen their local fire protection district and community

Previous financial, bookkeeping, accounting, or administrative experience is preferred, but not required.

This position must be filled as soon as possible, and we strongly encourage anyone interested in serving their community in a meaningful way to reach out immediately for more information.

If interested, please contact the DRFPD directly or send us a private message.

Please share to help us find the right person for this important role.

Earlier this evening, crews responded to the 170 eastbound for a motor vehicle crash. While units were returning from that call, we were dispatched auto aid to the 12000 block of Highway E to assist Rolla Rural Fire with a residential structure fire.

While units were responding to the fire, we were dispatched to the 181 westbound to assist MSHP with traffic control. Both lanes were completely covered in water due to the drain in the median being clogged up with debris. One vehicle crashed due to the flooded roadway.

This afternoon at 1:03 PM, units from
DRFPD, Phelps Health EMS, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, and Rolla City Fire were dispatched to an address in the 200 block of MacArthur Street in Doolittle for a possible drowning.

Our units arrived on scene within 3 minutes of being dispatched. One firefighter immediately entered the water and determined that the victim was deceased.

Rolla City Fire arrived and assisted with the body recovery. Once the body was recovered, the scene was turned over to the PCSD and Phelps County Coroner.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the deceased. No further information will be given.

The National Day of Prayer serves as a reminder for communities across the country to come together in faith, unity, and support for one another.

Every day, firefighters and first responders answer calls that place them in difficult and dangerous situations. From structure fires and vehicle accidents to medical emergencies and water rescues, these men and women are often called to help others during some of the worst moments of their lives. The National Day of Prayer gives the community a chance to pause and pray for the safety, strength, and wisdom of those who serve.

The Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District remains committed to protecting the citizens of the district with professionalism, compassion, and dedication. Behind every emergency response is a team of firefighters, families, and supporters who sacrifice time and comfort to serve others. Prayer can provide encouragement not only for first responders, but also for the families who stand behind them.

Today, we encourage everyone to keep firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, healthcare workers, military members, and community leaders in their prayers. We are thankful for the support of the community and honored to continue serving alongside our neighboring departments and agencies.

On this National Day of Prayer, may we all remember the importance of faith, service, and community.

Continue to pray for us here in Missouri.

We’re fine, we simply just don’t know what clothes to wear on a daily basis right now.
