I grow and sell flowers and most of the proceeds I raise goes towards buying Christmas gifts for people who may not otherwise receive any gifts. Thanks for the patience over the past week while I dealt with family things, a busy week at work, and lots of special orders. Now that the flower season is over we are quickly transitioning over to gift giving season which right now looks like a lot of boring behind the scenes work. It doesn’t make for popular social media posts but it’s really important work.

The plan was to have a big last weekend push but we had a family emergency so there won’t be any flowers this weekend and that will be the end of the flower season. 16 years ago I wanted to try hanging gliding when we were going on a family vacation. It was going to be $100 so we decided I could sell flowers to help raise some of that money. I raised $200 and my dad went hang gliding too. I loved growing and selling the flowers so the next summer I decided to use the money I raised to help buy Christmas presents for people who might not otherwise receive any. I am grateful to still be doing Maggie’s Flowers.

With the expected constant rain tonight and tomorrow I am not going to set up a pop up shop for this weekend. Next weekend is the last weekend for the roadside stands so depending on weather I will try again next weekend to see if we can raise a bit more money going into the gift giving season. I’ve had two back to back busy weekends with markets. These are the last big push of flower season and a chance to put myself in a strong financial position going into gift giving season. I still have a lot of flowers and flower items available so I am wondering if I set up a little pop up shop at my house next weekend if anyone would be interested in shopping. The aftermath of a two day market. I am equal parts exhausted and grateful. Thank you Abigail Albers, Liz Marie - Cozy Cottage Style and My Sweet Dream for a wonderful The Found Cottage Mercantile. We got off to a hard start with a tent broken by the weather and everything soaked by huge storms. We did our best to get ready and have a great market and I think it worked. Thank you friends old and new who came out to support me in giving Christmas presents to those in need through the beauty of flowers. Now we clean up, rest, and get ready for next weekends Zeeland Peddlers Market. The flower season is quickly winding down and soon we will be getting ready for gift giving season.

We are in a totally different location than you are use to finding us at so grab a map. We are here 5-9 Friday and 9-4 Saturday at the Ottawa County Fairgrounds. Hope you can stop by and say hi!
