Following up on the recent propane tank burial in Manchester, VT, we also completed several other property improvements:

- Gravel Patio: We replaced an aging, rotting deck with a new 15’ x 40’ gravel patio using 1/2” stone. Before spreading the gravel evenly for smooth transitions, we smoothed the surface and laid down medium-duty fabric to suppress w**d growth. 4x4 timbers were installed around the edges to hold the gravel in place. We applied the same process (fabric, 1/2" stone, and 4x4 timbers) to a small inlet where the propane line connects to the regulator.
- Front Yard Remodel: We removed and disposed of rotting railroad ties. The area was then leveled, topped with fresh topsoil, seeded, fertilized, and covered with straw to protect against erosion.
- Backyard Grading: We smoothed out several areas and added topsoil to build up low spots, improving the lawn and preventing water from pooling, particularly around the bulkhead door leading to the basement.

Here is a recent project we completed in Manchester, VT.

For this project, we excavated for a 1,000-gallon in-ground propane tank and dug a trench from the tank location to the house for the propane line. Once the tank was lowered into place, we backfilled the area with sand to protect the tank, and similarly backfilled the trench with sand after the line was connected. We then covered the sand with the excavated material, graded the area for a smooth surface, applied topsoil, and finished by spreading seed, fertilizer, and straw.

Last week, we completed a driveway resurfacing project in Manchester Center, VT.

The original driveway had deep potholes and was overgrown with grass and w**ds. To resolve this, we pulverized the existing potholes and vegetation before bringing in approximately 120 tons of fresh Shur PAC for the new surface.

We graded a crown on the driveway to ensure proper water and snowmelt drainage, and carefully transitioned the surface in front of the garage door and parking area. To finish the project, we compacted the driveway using a vibratory roller and applied a chloride treatment to eliminate dust and further harden the surface.

We recently completed a culvert replacement for a driveway in Rupert, VT, where managing dramatic elevation changes and drainage is essential. We replaced an undersized, failing culvert with a larger model, backfilled and compacted the area, and applied a fresh layer of Shur PAC to the driveway surface. Additionally, we installed Rip Rap stone on the uphill side to prevent silt and debris from clogging the system.

Proper drainage is vital to the longevity of any driveway or private road, as it prevents rainwater and snowmelt from washing away the surface.

We have recently completed several gravel and dirt driveway and private road repairs following the torrential downpours in Dorset and Manchester, VT.

Our process involved using a Harley rake to loosen the surfaces and fill in washed-away areas. We finished each project by using a vibratory roller to ensure all surfaces were properly compacted and durable.

We recently completed a driveway renovation in Dorset, VT.

The original driveway was too narrow to navigate the circle comfortably. To resolve this, we stripped the existing sod and relocated it elsewhere on the property to create a new lawn area. We then installed heavy-duty fabric to prevent future grass growth, brought in material that matched the existing driveway, and finished by grading and compacting the entire area.
