📅 RECURRING CLIENTS — NEXT QUARTER SCHEDULES ARE COMING! 📅

Alright, my lovely recurring clients! ❤️ All September–December cleaning dates are set and will be going out TODAY! Please keep an eye on your messages for your schedule.

A couple of IMPORTANT things I need from you once you receive your dates:

✨ Choose your Deep Clean!
As a reminder, recurring clients are required to have at least ONE Deep Clean per quarter. Please look over your dates and let me know which cleaning you’d like upgraded to your quarterly Deep Clean.

🎄 CHECK THOSE HOLIDAY DATES!
September through December gets BUSY, and I know holiday plans, traveling, family gatherings, etc. can change your normal routine. Please look over ALL of your dates as soon as you receive them and let me know NOW if anything needs to be moved or adjusted.

This scheduling period is your opportunity to make those changes without cancellation/rescheduling penalties. Once the quarter begins and schedules are finalized, our normal cancellation and rescheduling policies will apply.

I do my absolute best to accommodate everyone, but especially during the holiday season, there is VERY little wiggle room once the calendar is locked in. 🫣

So when that message hits your phone today… don’t just glance at it and forget about me. 😂 Check those dates, check your holiday plans, pick your Deep Clean, and let me know if we’re good to go! 🧹✨

And I don’t think people always realize just how true that is.

When you see your friend, family member, or even just a local small business out here busting their ass trying to build something-interact with their stuff.

Like the post.
Drop a comment.
Share it.
Tag someone who might need their services.
Leave a review if you’ve used them.
Recommend them when someone asks.

IT. IS. FREE.

That little comment you left? It might help push their post in front of someone who becomes a client.

That share that took you two seconds? It might put their business in front of hundreds of people they could have never reached on their own.

That recommendation in a local Facebook group? That could literally turn into money that helps them pay their electric bill, buy groceries, pay an employee, or keep chasing this crazy dream of working for themselves.

Small business owners notice that s**t, too. ❤️

We notice the people who consistently hype us up. We notice the ones who tag our businesses before we ever get a chance to tag ourselves. We notice every review, every share, every “Hey, I know somebody!” And I promise you- it means more than you probably realize.

🧹 CLEANERS… what is the CRAZIEST thing that has ever happened to YOU on a job?! 😂

Because after all these years, I still don’t think I’ve fully recovered from this one.

Picture it: Crystal Clean, very early days. ✨

Someone books a deep clean in a neighboring town. Everything is normal… until the morning of the clean when the client sends me a little heads-up:

“My boyfriend works nights, so he’ll be asleep upstairs in the master bedroom. He’s a REALLY hard sleeper, so just work around him. I don’t want the master bedroom skipped.”

Okay. Weird? Maybe a little. But alright. 🫡

So eventually I make my way upstairs. I quietly open the master bedroom door, trying to be respectful because there is, after all, a sleeping stranger in there.

And WHAT DID MY EYES SEE?!

Y’all.

A VERY LARGE, VERY NAKED MAN.

No blanket. No sheet. No drawers. No modesty. Just this man laid out in all his glory…

WITH HIS SAUSAGE PROMPTLY IN HIS HAND. 🌭😭

I GASPED & said “OH SH*T”. Loudly. Like an audible, soul-leaving-my-body gasp. “I’M SO SORRY!” And immediately backed my ass right back out of that room. 😂

Now listen…

To this DAY, I do not know what that man was doing with said sausage.

Did I interrupt something?

Was he genuinely asleep and simply sleeping sausage-in-hand like men sometimes do?

Did he wake up when I opened the door and instinctively grab it like somebody was coming to steal it?!

I. DO. NOT. KNOW. 😭😂

What I DO know is that I was MORTIFIED. And despite the client specifically requesting that we clean the master bedroom…

✨ The master bedroom did, in fact, get skipped. ✨

I texted the client afterward and professionally explained that, for liability and safety reasons, I wasn’t comfortable cleaning a bedroom with an unknown man sleeping in the bed.

What I did NOT tell her was: “Ma’am, I have already met your boyfriend AND his sausage, and I believe we have all had enough interaction for one day.” 😭🌭

That was one of those early lessons in business where you realize there are certain policies you never thought you’d need… until suddenly YOU NEED THEM. 😂

So now I need to know:

Cleaners, contractors, service professionals or ANYONE who works inside other people’s homes… what is the most awkward, unhinged, or downright CRAZY thing you’ve ever walked into on a job?!

And everybody else… WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE DONE?! 😂 😭

Would you have:
A) Quietly backed out like I did
B ) Cleaned around him because “the client said so”
C) Screamed and left the whole damn house
D) Told the client EXACTLY why that master bedroom wasn’t getting cleaned

Because apparently I chose Option E: Meet the sausage, apologize to the sausage, and professionally remove myself from the sausage’s presence. 🌭✌️😂

🧴 LET’S TALK ABOUT OVERSPRAY… because where your cleaner lands matters.

One of the easiest ways to accidentally damage something while cleaning has nothing to do with using the “wrong” product.

It’s overspray.

Overspray is exactly what it sounds like: those tiny droplets of product that travel beyond the surface you intended to spray. You may be aiming at a mirror, countertop, appliance or shower door- but that mist can land on the flooring, nearby furniture, painted surfaces, natural stone, electronics, fixtures and other materials.

And depending on what’s in that bottle, those few little droplets can matter. 😬

Some cleaning products contain acids, alkaline ingredients, solvents, oxidizers or other chemicals designed to work on a specific type of soil and surface. A product that is perfectly appropriate for one material can discolor, etch, dull, strip or otherwise damage another.

This is one reason you’ll sometimes see professional cleaners spray the cloth instead of the surface. It gives us much better control over where the chemical goes.

A few good habits:

✨ Spray into your microfiber when working around sensitive surfaces.
✨ Avoid spraying directly toward electronics, outlets and switches.
✨ Pay attention to what is below and beside the area you’re spraying.
✨ Don’t assume that because a product is safe for one surface, it’s safe for everything surrounding it.
✨ Always follow the product label, including surface compatibility and dwell-time instructions.

And remember!!! More product does NOT equal more clean. Oversaturating a surface can create its own problems.

Professional cleaning isn’t just knowing what product cleans something. It’s knowing what’s in the bottle, what you’re putting it on, what’s around it, and where that product is going to land.

Those little details are what protect your home while we clean it. 🧼✨

I’ve been seeing all the fun cleaning shirts floating around, and y’all already know I couldn’t just leave well enough alone. 😂 So my FAVORITE t-shirt gal and I have been cooking up several Crystal Clean ORIGINAL designs- and I am OBSESSED.

With a little help from AI to get the ideas out of my head and the talent of Ariel Tyson with HONEY BEAR & CO. to actually bring those visions to life, we’ve got some really fun stuff coming your way!

✨ I’M BACK! I’ve been home trying to readjust, ease my back pain & take the last week in. ✨

After a whirlwind trip across the country, three days at Hell City Tattoo Convention in Phoenix, and coming home with a whole lot more ink than I left with… your favorite tattooed cleaning lady is officially back in Alabama and some sense of normalcy has returned to Crystal Clean! 😂🧹

This trip was one for the books. I got to experience some absolutely breathtaking scenery, meet incredible people from all walks of life, spend three days surrounded by the countries most insanely talented artists, and watch my artist bring another huge piece of artwork to life on my skin.

And when I say I earned this tattoo… whew. 😮‍💨😂 Three long days on the table 8-10 hours a day definitely tested me, but we made it!

Now the convention wristbands are off, the suitcase is unpacked, and it’s back to business, clients, cleaning, and our regularly scheduled chaos. 🧽✨

Huge thank you to everyone who was patient with me and my team while I stepped away for a little adventure. Owning a business means it can be hard to truly disconnect, but experiences like this remind me why I work as hard as I do.

🧹 WHAT WOULD YOU DO?

—— Scenario ——

You arrive at a recurring client’s home for their scheduled clean.

You walk in and immediately realize the house is WAY different than normal.

There are dishes covering the counters, clothes and toys all over the floors, food left out, trash everywhere, and you can barely access some of the surfaces you normally clean.

This client normally keeps their home picked up before you arrive, so this is completely out of character.

You know there is absolutely no way you can do your normal cleaning and deal with all of this in the time they’re scheduled for.

So… what do you do?

Do you:

👉 Clean around everything and complete as much of their normal service as possible?

👉 Contact the client and explain that additional time/charges will be necessary?

👉 Pick everything up and straighten the house anyway, knowing it will put you behind for the rest of the day?

👉 Ask if everything is okay first, because such a drastic change might mean something bigger is going on?

👉 Or is this simply a case of: “I was hired to clean, not organize,” and you stick strictly to your scope of work?

CLIENTS- I want your opinion too!

If your home was unusually chaotic one week, what would you expect your cleaner to do?

There’s a difference between cleaning a home and preparing a home to BE cleaned… but sometimes life happens.

🧽 WHY DO WE RECOMMEND A DEEP CLEAN AT LEAST EVERY 6 MONTHS?

Imagine walking into a home that is exceptionally clean.

The floors are spotless.
The counters shine.
The bathrooms sparkle.
There’s no dust sitting on furniture and everything smells fresh.

But then… 👀 Move the couch. Look underneath the beds. Run your finger across the baseboards.

Look closely at the window glass & sills, outer cabinets, vents, light fixtures and all those little areas that aren’t necessarily part of routine maintenance cleaning.

Suddenly, that very clean house might not look quite as clean as you thought. And THAT is exactly why we implement periodic deep cleans for our recurring clients.

Some days as a business owner are cute little “answer emails, clean a house, go home” days…

And then there are days like TODAY. 😂🫠

I’m up bright and early heading into a deep clean, leaving in the middle of it to pick up a rental car, coming BACK to finish the clean, then running a few last-minute errands before heading home to pack, organize, tie up loose ends and hopefully get a few hours of sleep.

Why?

Because at 4AM we’re hitting the road for Phoenix for Hell City Tattoo Convention! 🖤🔥

Owning Crystal Clean means sometimes I’m the cleaner, scheduler, customer service department, supply runner, accountant, problem solver, content creator and professional chaos coordinator… all before lunch. 😂

But I also built this business because I wanted a life that gave me the freedom to WORK hard and still LIVE hard.

So today we clean.
Tonight we pack.
Tomorrow we ROAD TRIP. 🛻 🌵🖤

And somewhere in between, I’m gonna need approximately 47 business hours worth of sleep. 😂

As always, I’m incredibly grateful for every client who keeps Crystal Clean busy enough to make this crazy little life possible. 🩵
