Just checking in since I haven't been on here in a while.

Thought I'd show you some of the blooms I've had at my house these last few weeks.

I've always loved rhododendrons but I've never actually grown one. We moved into a new house just before Christmas 2020 and one of my favorite things to do is watch the landscape to see what will emerge. There's a really lanky, ugly rhody in the back yard. It obviously needed some love but I wanted to let it do its thing this year. It's a large, sprawling, spindly shrub, but it's putting out new growth like mad. And it had two buds. I can't tell you how many times I've gone out to check on those buds! When I got back from a trip they were just starting to push. This morning I woke up to the first blooms opening. Aren't they gorgeous!?

I'm guessing it's a 'scintillation'?

I found these flitting around my azaleas sunday. I think it's some type of clearwing moth? I wasn't sure whether he was a huge bee or a strange butterfly. Turns out neither...

It was super hard to get a photo . It was in constant motion. Really fun just to watch though. 😁 what's buzzing about your flowers?
