If the person who felt like home is gone, ask yourself a painful question:

“Did they actually feel like home or did they feel familiar?”

Because sometimes, the people we love most aren’t giving us the safety we always wanted. They’re giving us the chaos we learned to call love.

We often don’t choose what is healthy.
We choose what we recognize.

And if you grew up in a home where love came with fear, silence, instability, abandonment, or pain… you may spend years mistaking the familiar for safe.

That’s the tragedy: sometimes we don’t go looking for home. We go looking for the home we already know.

And breaking that cycle can mean losing the person who once felt like everything.

Not because you stopped loving them.

But because, for the first time, you finally learned that love is not supposed to hurt like home did. ❤️🙏

Some People Are a Lesson

Some people arrive like spring.
Others arrive like storms.

Not every hand we hold is meant to hold us forever. Some are sent only to reveal the strength already living within us.

I mistook endurance for love, sacrifice for devotion, and silence for peace.

I stayed loyal. I kept my promises. I took accountability. I believed if I loved enough, I could build a home on shifting sand.

I couldn’t.

Looking back, I see I was never difficult to love. I was simply standing where love could not flourish.

G-d has a remarkable way of using ordinary people to teach extraordinary lessons.

They were never my destination.
They were my classroom.

I learned that integrity outlives charisma.
That character never goes out of style.
That quiet strength is still strength.

Life asked me to fight—not because I was abandoned, but because G-d wanted me to remember I was never alone.

So today, I thank every lesson.

Because they led me back to the woman G-d always knew I was.

I don’t need to be rescued.
I don’t need to shrink to be loved.

I am whole.

And if you’re wondering whether you’re enough…

You always were. 🤍

Between Sehnsucht and Fernweh
A Poem by A.S.

There are two words the English language never quite learned to hold.

Sehnsucht—
the ache for a home the soul remembers
but the feet have never found.

Fernweh—
the longing for distant horizons,
for roads that whisper, keep going,
because somewhere beyond the next mountain
you might finally breathe without asking permission.

I have lived between them.

For years, I mistook cages for cathedrals,
confusing devotion with disappearing,
believing that love required the quiet surrender
of my own voice.

I became fluent in shrinking—
in measuring every word,
in folding my dreams into smaller shapes
so they would fit inside someone else’s hands.

But hearts are not meant to be folded forever.

Now I stand where every ending becomes a shoreline.

Behind me, footprints the tide has already begun to erase.
Before me, an ocean with no map,
only stars.

I grieve not only the people I have lost,
but the woman who kept abandoning herself
to keep the peace.

She deserves mourning, too.

Yet beneath the sorrow,
something ancient is waking.

Perhaps Sehnsucht was never a longing for another person.

Perhaps it was always a longing for myself—
for the woman I might have become
had fear never mistaken itself for love.

And perhaps Fernweh is not a desire to run away.

Perhaps it is the quiet courage
to walk toward the life
that has been calling my name all along.

So I will follow it.

One trembling step.
One uncertain sunrise.
One deep breath that belongs only to me.

If home is not a place,
but the moment my spirit no longer apologizes for existing,

then I am already on the journey.

And maybe that is enough for today.

Between Sehnsucht and Fernweh,
I am no longer searching for someone to rescue me.

I am learning the oldest pilgrimage of all—

the long, beautiful road
back to myself. ❤️

Protecting abusers is not biblical.

Showing mercy and protecting someone from accountability are not the same thing.

Scripture repeatedly calls us to defend the vulnerable, seek justice, correct oppression, and rescue those being harmed. It does not call us to conceal abuse, excuse evil, or sacrifice victims to preserve someone’s reputation.

“Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.” — 1 Corinthians 13:6

Forgiveness is biblical.
Accountability is biblical.
Boundaries are biblical.
Protecting the vulnerable is biblical.

What is not biblical is enabling ongoing harm in the name of peace, unity, forgiveness, or appearances.

You can forgive and still tell the truth.
You can forgive and still report abuse.
You can forgive and still pursue justice.
You can forgive and still maintain boundaries.

The Bible does not command victims to remain in danger. It commands believers to seek justice, expose darkness, and protect those who are being oppressed.

If abuse is real, the question is not, “How do we protect the abuser?”

The question is, “How do we protect those being harmed while calling the wrongdoer to repentance and accountability?”

Truth and mercy were never meant to be enemies.

June 23, 2026 marks the fifth anniversary of “Whackd”

*Whackd*
A poem by A.S.in honor or John McAfee

On his arm, a single word:

WHACKD.

Black ink.
A warning.
A joke.
A prophecy.

The world laughed,
because John always spoke
like a man standing in the middle of a lightning storm,
daring the sky to strike.

“If I su***de myself,
I didn’t.
I was whackd.”

A sentence that outlived the man.

Years later,
people still argue over prison walls,
court documents,
headlines,
and theories.

But I remember something different.

Not the fugitive.

Not the billionaire.

Not the headlines screaming for attention.

I remember the man
who opened doors for people
the world had forgotten.

The hackers.
The dreamers.
The weird kids.
The outcasts.

The ones with more ideas than dollars.

The ones nobody believed in.

John saw them.

He saw all of us underdogs.

While others saw risk,
he saw potential.

While others guarded their seats at the table,
he pulled up another chair.

The news will remember the scandal.

History will debate the circumstances.

The internet will chase shadows forever.

But those of us whose lives were changed
carry a different story.

A story of opportunity.

A story of rebellion.

A story of a man
who gave away more chances
than most people ever receive.

Maybe that’s the real mystery.

Not how he died.

But how a man so misunderstood
managed to help so many people
while the world was busy misunderstanding him.

The tattoo remains.

The questions remain.

The legend remains.

And somewhere,
I imagine McAfee laughing at all of us,
watching the chaos unfold,
cigarette in hand,
already three moves ahead.

Whackd.

Maybe not a declaration.

Maybe a reminder.

That some people become impossible to separate
from the stories told about them.

And some people become larger than the ending.

Rest easy, Mac Daddy.

The headlines got one version of you.

The lives you touched share another.

A 76-year-old man, Ron Williams, recently lost $1.6 million, his entire life savings… all starting from a single random text message.

Not a complex hack.
Not a breach of some high-tech system.
Just a conversation that felt “authentic” enough.

This is the new reality of AI-powered scams:
- Messages that sound human
- Voices that mimic loved ones
- Identities that appear completely legitimate

And once trust is established, the damage can be devastating.
The problem isn’t just about security anymore, it’s about your identity.

VULT Security is focused on solving exactly this with a simple user-controlled app, VULTid.
Anytime you need to validate if something or someone is the real deal, request a VULTid.

Because in a world where AI can convincingly pretend to be anyone…“Trust me” is no longer enough.

It’s time to move trust from hopeful to proven.

“An Echo That Stays; Saudade and the Beauty of Unfinished Goodbyes“

Saudade is not longing alone,
it is longing with memory still warm in its hands.

It is the echo that refuses to fade,
a tide that returns without asking
whether the shore has healed.

It lives in the space
between what was
and what will never be again,
not broken, not whole,
but beautifully suspended.

Saudade is a quiet visitor.
It does not knock.
It sits beside you
when a song drifts through the air
like a ghost that remembers your name.

It is the taste of yesterday
on the tongue of today,
sweet, but edged with absence,
like laughter heard
through a closed door.

You do not chase saudade.
You carry it.

In the curve of a smile
that once belonged to someone else.
In the weight of a place
that still holds your footsteps.
In the way your heart
learned to stretch around a missing piece
and call it meaning.

Saudade is love
that refused to end
when everything else did.

And somehow,
it is both the wound
and the proof
that something sacred
once lived here.

Saudade is a Portuguese word that has no English translation, but it is a deep, bittersweet longing for something or someone you love & miss. It carries both warmth & sadness, as the memory remains vivid even in absence. Unlike simple nostalgia, it often includes the quiet understanding that what’s gone may never return. It’s the feeling of love that lingers, even when everything else has moved on.
