This last week we have been seeing these Boxelder bugs beginning to swarm all over Bonner County. Very early this year.  They cluster together during the cold months in the  the nooks and crannies of your home. Under shingles, etc. and then re-emerge after the first warm days of spring. Wood debris and piles of rotting organic matter (leaf piles) is prime harborage for these prolific pests. You could do yourself a solid by eliminating these harborages early season so this doesn’t turn into a full-fledged plague in your yard and home later in the season. Another way to mitigate these little nightmares is to have regularly scheduled pest control treatments on your home done by a professional licensed pest control technician using professional strength products. Knowing what to spray and where and when is the key to successful control.

Thatch ants. I’ve treated these ants many times,  but only in areas where they are interfering with the customers enjoyment of their property. We would never just kill them to kill them. That’s not what we’re about. They’ve got to live somewhere. If they’re not in your yard, garden, or playground… leave em alone. A lot of pest technicians would dig and drench and dig and drench. Experience and proper products allows me to kill an anthill this size in a matter of a few days with no digging. I’ve been doing nothing but hornets and wasps for most of July. They are everywhere ! In soffits. Under docks. In attics In railroad ties. I busted this one open and found a big queen. Ground nests are being found (not fun). I’m licensed insured and experienced. Call if you need help.

During the demolition phase of any project, you are apt to run into concealed obstacles to your progress. Case in point, this contractors crew could not proceed  with the demolition until these flying stinging insects were dealt with.  We responded to the call from a desperate homeowner and removed everything you see in this photo from one room. We responded to the call and there was no time lost on the job. They were good to go when the contractor showed up next morning.
