It is with deep regret and heavy hearts that we confirm the news that our beloved friend and colleague Michael Morris passed away on Tuesday, 5/19/26 after a courageous battle with leukemia. Mike was 52 years old.

Over the course of his tenure with Terra Technical Services, Mike was so much more than a Senior Superintendent, Project Manager, Fleet/Shop Manager and most recently, a self-taught
AI Engineer working on Claude Code to make Terra’s operations more efficient every day!
Mike spent many hours training up until his last day working on making Terra better! It’s what his purpose in life was and he was a proud team player, cherished our client relationships and carried a positive outlook on life no matter what!

Mike was the kind of guy who figured it out, owned it, and made everyone around him better for being in his orbit. The shop, the field, the office —Mike touched every part of our company, and his fingerprints will be on Terra's work for years to come. Mike embraced his Catholic Faith and was driven very spiritually by Saint Padre Pio in his last few years. He was surrounded by Padre's sacred relics when he passed peacefully at his home.

Mike loved to teach anyone who wanted to learn. He knew four different languages including his own Native American dialect "Lakota". He played guitar and sang his own music in Nashville, created extraordinary wood carvings and was very passionate about his career and love for all things dirt and construction! He was extremely intelligent and took pride in reading many books.

As he evolved across multiple roles at Terra, he was a true believer in the philosophy of the
book, “The Energy Bus” by Jon Gordon. He lived this messaging every day in essence. “You
are the driver of your life, and you must fuel your journey with positive energy. By taking
responsibility for your path, ignoring negativity, and driving with a shared vision, you can
overcome adversity and inspire those around you." Mike did just that and he refused to give up!

We are holding his wife Leelee and his entire family in our thoughts and prayers.

Mike's Celebration of Life is planned for Saturday, June 13th at 4:00 pm at Lenape Park located at 690 Creek Road in West Chester, PA (Former Brandywine Picnic Park). Friends and family are invited to join us for fellowship and food to share stories about Mike and to celebrate his life! Dress is casual and families are welcome!

Thank you to all of our clients, suppliers and business associates who knew about Mike’s loss and who have reached out to our team to provide much needed support! Mike was one of a kind and he will be terribly missed by all of us! Michael Morris will be forever a part of our TERRA Family!

Sincerely,
Sherri Manning

When AMC closed this location during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, the site sat vacant for over 6 years. Terra was brought in by to complete a full interior demolition followed by bulk demolition to prepare the site for a new Community Medical Center bringing a long-vacant property back to life.

Theater seats were donated to local fire and police departments throughout the community. Transformers, concrete, and all remaining assets recycled to eliminate landfill disposal.

Controlled decommissioning isn’t demolition for the sake of demolition. It’s a methodical process including - hazmat abatement, structural assessment, permitted removal all managed in sequence so nothing is left to chance.

Penn State’s Oswald Tower had been standing since 1973. Fifty-two years of sociology departments, research centers, and a brick facade that had been slowly crumbling back to the ground. When the university decided it was time to bring it down, the challenge wasn’t the building, it was what surrounded it.
Two trees, both more than a century old, standing just feet from the structure. A pecan. A hawthorn. A red oak nearby. All of them predating the tower by decades. The demolition had to be planned around them with tight sequencing, careful environmental controls, every phase of the work designed so the trees never became collateral damage.
The tower is gone. Terra Technical executed the full demolition - sequencing the work, managing the environmental controls, and getting it done without touching a single protected tree. The footprint will become green space...lawn, benches, walkways connecting two of Penn State’s more historic buildings. And the trees that were there long before the tower are still standing.
That’s the part of this work that doesn’t always make it into the conversation. Demolition isn’t only about what comes down. It’s about understanding the full picture of a site, what’s there, what matters, and how you execute around it.
