📰 MN Chronicle | Youth Voices at the Table

On October 1, Soc13ty 101 founder Dominique Pierre-Toussaint joined Appetite For Change’s youth program for an hour of music, reflection, and conversation.

“Keep Goin” and “THE - H” helped open the discussion before participants explored three topics selected through their own survey: saving and money, mental wellness, and leadership.

In small groups, youth shared ideas, wrote Post-it responses, and added their perspectives to community boards. The session closed with a conversation about what they want adults to understand about young people, food, and their neighborhoods.

Thank you to the Appetite For Change team and the young people who shared their time and perspectives.

MN Chronicle | Digable Planets Are Coming to Minneapolis

Digable Planets will bring their Blow Out Comb celebration to The Fillmore Minneapolis Presented by Affinity Plus on Saturday, October 17.

The show has a personal connection for Dominique Pierre-Toussaint. He and group member Ladybug Mecca went to high school together in Maryland, where they became friends through a shared love of hip-hop culture.

Ladybug Mecca, Butterfly and Doodlebug made their mark with a sound that brought jazz and hip-hop together. Their single “Rebirth of Slick (Cool Like Dat)” won a Grammy in 1994, and the group was nominated for Best New Artist that year.

Come out and support Ladybug Mecca and Digable Planets.
