My highest growth year in business was when I lived in an RV and traveled the country. And before you say it, this is not a story about working less or running away from your responsibilities and watching the money roll in.
It is a story about finally doing the right things in the right order.
I stopped trying to be every single function of my business at once. I put my energy into what I was actually good at and started trusting people who already had the frameworks to handle the rest. Dan Sullivan wrote a whole book about this, the idea that the question is never how am I going to figure this out, it is who already has. That shift alone changed the way my energy moved through the business.
I also gave myself permission to actually be present where I was. Long hikes. National parks. Movement. Fresh air. That was not a distraction from the work. It was feeding it. The more alive I felt outside, the more inspired I was inside the business. The two were fueling each other in a way I had never let them before.
We stopped reinventing the wheel on every project and built systems that could compound instead of reset. And we stopped being Jill St.Clair Creative, a freelancer name for a growing agency, and became Ahvay. Built specifically to speak to health and wellness, travel and hospitality, personal development, and design and build. We stopped throwing spaghetti at the wall and hoping it sticks and got clear on who we wanted in the room with us, built something that spoke directly to them, and they found us.
You can scroll our feed or spend five minutes on our website and see exactly who is coming through our doors now. It worked because we built it for exactly who we were aiming for.
What took me months in the desert to figure out, we now do for small business owners in ten days.
If this resonated, follow along. More on building a business that actually fits your life coming regularly. And if you are curious about what we built and how we do it for other businesses, everything is at the link in bio. 🌿
