These little monsters are almost too fun to eat.

Monster Meatball Sliders: saucy meatballs, melted mozzarella teeth, and olive eyes on toasted slider rolls. About 20 minutes start to finish, and the kids will want to help build them.

Makes 12 sliders.

Ingredients:
12 cooked Italian meatballs
2 cups marinara sauce
12 slider rolls, split
6 slices mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
24 pimento-stuffed green olives
24 wooden toothpicks

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
2. Heat the meatballs and marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium-low heat.
3. Cut each mozzarella slice in half and trim one edge into uneven monster teeth.
4. Place roll bottoms on the baking sheet. Add one meatball and sauce to each.
5. Position mozzarella over each meatball with the pointed edge outward, then add roll tops.
6. Combine butter, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning and brush over the rolls.
7. Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until toasted and melted.
8. Place an olive on each toothpick and insert two into every slider for eyes. Remove toothpicks before eating.

Kitchen tip: Add the olive eyes after baking so they stay upright, and warn younger guests about the toothpicks.
