Dubois, Jackson and Grand Teton Park HQ sites will have an average of GOOD with periods of MODERATE. Nighttime smoke will move down the Wind River and Gros Ventre valleys to Dubois and the Jackson valley. All other sites should have GOOD air quality all day.

Hey friends!! We have a wedding at the lodge next weekend so we will be closed on the 19th all day.

We will be serving prime rib tonight and again on the 26th before we close for the season.

We will be closed October 27th - December 20th.

After at least a week of UNHEALTHY air quality around the Fire, colder weather and precipitation will suppress fire activity and reduce smoke. After the precip ends on Friday, there is the possibility that residual smoke from smoldering could drain down towards Highway 26, the Gross Ventre Valley, and the Green River Valley. We will reevaluate tomorrow to see if a forecast of MODERATE is warranted for these locations.

Pack Trail Smoke Outlook October 15, 2024

❗Special Statement❗
Air Quality Alert has been issued by the State of Wyoming until at least 1 pm Tuesday for much of central and western Wyoming due to smoke from the Pack Trail Fire.

🔥Fire🔥
The Pack Trail Fire was last reported at 86,555 acres, and preliminary analysis of satellite imagery indicated that 6800 acres burned on Monday. The fire is located in heavy fuels along with dead standing trees (snags) and downed timber. Very active behavior was observed on Monday along the southwest perimeter. As winds gradually shift from the NW to the SW, active fire behavior is expected on Tuesday.

💨Smoke💨
Smoke draining from the Pack Trail Fire into Jackson Valley has been stubborn to clear, and areas of UNHEALTHY air quality will persist until late afternoon. East of the Fire, Dubois should see poor visibility and UNHEALTHY conditions at times until Wednesday. Elsewhere, GOOD to MODERATE air quality is forecast.
