As mentioned in the Month Ahead Preview for June, one of 2019's Big Signatures - JUPITER square NEPTUNE - is back front and centre. So taking the time to re-post what I wrote at the beginning of the year, as getting re-acquainted with this energy as well as having a much needed look-back is key, oh, right about now ~ AstroSparkles 💫

Sometimes, an aspect comes along that is so chock-full of potential and possibility, it’s almost ridiculous. Almost.
This year’s Jupiter/Neptune Square is one such aspect. And when I say one such aspect, what I really mean is wow, wowsers, hooley dooley and Here. We. Go.
Jupiter and Neptune are the co-rulers of our 12th Sign, Pisces – and that’s interesting enough as it is, that the co-rulers of a Sign are in aspect – long term aspect – with each other. But then again, they were also in aspect with each other through 2018, via the big Watery Trine, part of Scorpio’s domination of the landscape.
What makes this year different is two things. Two Big Deal Things.
Firstly, Jupiter has now moved into Sagittarius for 12 months. Home Sign. Neptune has been in Pisces for a while. Home Sign. Both of these planets are currently in Rulership – so super strong. That in and of itself could be enough.
But it’s the second piece of this puzzle – the Square Aspect – that is now key.
Last year, Jupiter and Neptune were chatting most amicably. The intuitive vibe was strong and the going was relatively easy – that’s what Trines are all about. A nice, easy aspect, often (but not always) full of goodness – but requiring action to get the full benefit. Anyone with a natal trine in their chart will know how fab that aspect can be – and how easily taken for granted it can also be. That’s what a lot of last year’s energy could have been about – loads of opportunities and growth around hopes and dreams – but somewhat taken for granted.
There is no ‘taking for granted’ under a Square.
Square Aspects push, pull, prod and poke. Square Aspects Make Things Happen. Often in an uncomfortable yet somehow familiar manner. Work with them (or around them/Plan B) and doors only previously slightly ajar OPEN. Try to stand steadfast – or withstand – and the outcome is unlikely to be as good. Or as productive. Of all the aspects, Square Aspects provide the most challenge, the most push – and the most growth. And yes, as with so many things that aid our growth, there is often an adjustment required. Growing Pains is an apt term.
The thing with this energy though, is that it’s based in Mutable Signs – the most ‘easy going’ of the three Sign Qualities. There’s a little more ‘give’ in a Mutable Square than there is in a Cardinal or Fixed Square – it’s almost as if, courtesy of the signs that the planets are in, they’re open to more negotiation and navigation. More willingness to work with each other. And hey, if the co-rulers of Pisces can’t work with each other, I ask who can??!!
So as we contemplate the bounties that might be available under a square between the Planet of Growth, Opportunity and Luck and the Planet of Hopes, Dreams and Inspiration, we should also prepare to work those lucky breaks. Or work on creating our own lucky breaks. And yes, while I’m highlighting the more positive attributes of both planets right now, we’ll definitely cover the shadow side – and potential fallout - further on.
Jupiter in Sagittarius is all about The Big Picture. In Sagittarius, Jupiter expands Big Pictures and Horizons, bringing confidence and growth to these themes.
Neptune in Pisces is all about the Ideal Idyll. In Pisces, Neptune seeds and infuses our hopes and dreams, providing boundless – if sometimes unrealistic – playing fields for inspiration and fantasy.
In this Square Aspect, we are being positioned – or shoved in the back – to take advantage of what may have been set up through 2018 along the Hopes and Dreams themes. Or it could be totally new variations of the same theme now on the table. However it works, there is a push – a MAJOR push – to not just get on with the vision, but to also have faith. Faith is a key Jupiterian word – and Jupiter is the ‘aggressor’ here. Jupiter is the one pushing buttons. And if there’s any planet that you want pushing buttons, it would be Jupiter.
Because this is Big Dreams Territory. Of the dare-to-dream-it-dare-to-go-after-it variety.
Excited? You should be. You SO should be.
Now two key things to further consider.
Not everyone will be affected to the same degree of potency. Sorry, but there it is. For the same reasons you may be thankful that you don’t have to deal with a Pluto transit this year, it might just be that you’re not in *The Zone* for this one. It doesn’t mean it will completely pass you by – this energy, whichever way you look at it, is just way too big and all-encompassing not to touch lives everywhere. But the degree to which you’re touched will not be as potent as say, if you have a planet/point in the 14-19deg Zone of the Mutable Signs – Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo. That’s *The Zone* - and that is Potency Plus. It won’t get more potent. Next in line would be heavy Sagittarian and/or Piscean Charts. Your Signs are infused with this energy and it will have a roll-on effect. Probably not as intimately as it would if you had one of those planets in The Zone – but still good stuff. And then it would be planets/points around the rest of the Zodiac falling in The Zone. A Leo Planet in the zone will benefit from the Jupiter interaction, not so much from the Neptune one. A Scorpio Planet in the zone will benefit from the Neptune interaction, not so much from the Jupiter one. The flow on effects will dilute – but they’ll still be there. And so on.
But hey, The Zone is The Zone - and it’s very much shaping up around 2019 leaving its mark, possibly in the most incredible of ways.
The second thing to consider? The shadow sides of these planets – which can most definitely be triggered by the hard aspect. Excess, over-indulgence and blind optimism are some of Jupiter’s alter egos, while confusion, disillusion and lies can also reign supreme within Neptune’s domain. So while this is a big, flambuoyant energy, there is also a real possibility for OTT (over-the-top) qualities and not seeing things as they really are – and truly, who needs Too Big For Your Boots Syndrome in this party??
So that’s the caution. The good news is that in the midst of this square, there’s another Big 2019 Signature in play – the sextile between Saturn and Neptune which kicks off early next month – and with Saturn making it a trio of very active planets in Rulership, this could well introduce a layer of realism, reality and plain down-to-earth common sense into the Jupiter/Neptune playbooks. It might even be one of those rare times that we welcome Saturn’s sobriety to temper Jupiter’s exuberance. Maybe.
Still, this Jupiter/Neptune square is all about chasing those dreams and making those big pictures happen. It’s about rising above, having faith and not giving up. It’s about Dreaming Big. And it’s about so much more.
Boundless Opportunity Around Hopes And Dreams. BOAHAD.
I’ll look forward to your stories as those stories unfold through the year. And with my Gemini Sun involved in a BiG T-Square – including pretty much exact (6 minute separation) for the third and final hit in September – you can pretty much count on hearing about mine.
Jupiter Square Neptune.
Enjoy this big, big energy, Sparklers. May it bring to you everything you hope for. And with a little work, and a little negation, even more. Because The Push Is On.
