Join our local Duluth large format sign printing company. We are looking for a graphic designer to join our team to lead in design development and printing production. We are a fun, hard-working team with passion for the northland. We love helping showcase our customers brands and bringing our customer's communication needs to life.
Looking to fill this as a part-time role. Goal is to find the right fit for our small, family company then grow this role into full-time with associated full-time benefits.
Role responsibilities detailed below.
Graphic designer (40%):
● Meet with customers or the sales account manager to determine the scope of a project
● Use digital illustration, photo editing software and layout software to create designs
● Participate in brainstorming sessions with the internal team and customers
● Create visual elements such as logos, original images and illustrations that help deliver a message
● Design layouts and select colors, images, and typefaces to use for design elements
● Review designs for errors before printing
● Present design concepts to customers or sales account manager and incorporate changes recommended by customers or sales account managers into the final designs
● Travel to customer locations as needed
● Ensure high standards and customer satisfaction through commitment to quality results and realistic customer commitments
● Ensure high quality production and installation results by providing production, finishing and installation details and files that are production ready
● Communicate with the sales account managers or project managers for effective customer communication
Printer production lead (35%):
● Cross train with current production printer lead.
● Grown into production lead responsible for printing final designs on large format vinyl printers and router die cutter.
● Communicate with sales and installation team to prioritize printing needs.
Marketing and social media promoter (10%):
● Maintain company website
● Maintain social media sites
● Develop relationships with local companies
Support production team (10%):
● Participate in job production planning
● Attend sign team weekly meetings to share relevant project progress, understand downstream production tasks and learn team priorities for the week
● Understand and champion compliance with OSHA and other governmental regulations for a safe work environment
Support sign production finishing specialist responsibilities (5%):
● Cut, Plot, Laminate, Trim, W**d, Mask, Mount signs
● Attend sign team weekly meetings to understand finishing tasks and schedule for the week
Promote the company brand and bring customer leads to the sales account managers.
Ability to grow into additional responsibilities after onboarding that fit needs of company and passion of individual.
