My teammate Kevin who also plays goalie on another team wanted one last new set. We talked Richter-era Rangers so I connected him with my Vaughn rep… and these beauties landed this week.

I spent time this Martin Luther King Jr. weekend with one of my teammates volunteering time and skills to the Martin Luther King Jr Service Project where we had the pleasure to help do work in and around the house of a local elderly man Mr Bob. Crews works inside decluttering, organizing, and cleaning while Ben, myself, and others were outside making repairs to the house. I myself installed a new storm door, new garage door, wireless doorbell, and makeshift grate to keep critters out of the sump pump with the help of my daughter. It felt great helping someone who needed the help, and being able to do it with my daughter and a teammate made all the better. Several teammates have already volunteered to join us next year.

Skated with my boy for the very first time last night — pickup with my beer league crew where the kids could join.

He had a prime scoring chance late in the skate… and yes, I shut the door on him. 🧱

He hasn’t forgiven me yet, but I’m calling it a core hockey memory.
