For those of you planning a garden this spring, you may want to look into putting in a few Spaghetti Trees in addition to the seedling tomatoes. They're drought tolerant but require a lot of water (along with a pinch of salt) towards harvest time. And, Spaghetti and wine pair nicely. We'll update the post when we locate a few specimens with the appropriate rootstock and keep you informed as the project moves forward.

Here’s what the Dulzura Creek looked like this morning.
Jamul/Dulzura has had 3.2” of rainfall in the last 48 hours… bringing the seasonal
total for the area to 22.45”. This should be a very good year for local vineyards!

We've often been curious as to how quickly new growth occurs. Here's a couple of Riesling buds shown opening over an eight hour period. The emerging leaves are barely a half-inch in length! Towards the end, you can also see the newly formed leaves track the setting sun.

A week ago Saturday a visitor to the winery stopped in to introduce himself and presented us with a small tin of his 2019 vintage Dulzura Extra Virgin olive oil to sample and to inquire if we’d be interested in making it available to our tasting room customers. We liked the idea for two reasons. First, it turned out to be REALLY, REALLY good olive oil. And secondly it’s made from locally grown Dulzura olives. His olive grove is just up the road from us. So, while you’re here to taste some of our wines please ask for a sample of this great-tasting Dulzura-grown Extra Virgin olive oil. Take some home with you…you’ll be glad you did!

Once a year the Jade plants on either side of our tasting room blossom. As the flowers are extremely tiny one must look closely to fully appreciate them. Here are a few photos in close-up of these elegant little flowers. They will likely be blooming for another week.
