Identity, credentialing, and access management are often discussed together, but they are not the same thing.
Identity is about knowing who a person is.
Credentialing is about issuing a trusted credential tied to that identity.
Access management is about deciding what that person should be allowed to access, and under what conditions.
Organizations are strongest when these three areas work together instead of being handled as separate problems.
That is where security, usability, and trust start to align.
