Southern Gospel Promoters Association Announces New Leadership
The Southern Gospel Promoters Association (SGPA) announces a transition in leadership as current President Paul Pitts steps down from his role as president. Scott Godsey has been named the new President of the Southern Gospel Promoters Association.
Godsey brings extensive experience in Southern Gospel music, media, broadcasting, artist relations, and industry leadership to the position. He currently serves as President of Singing News, Sea Walker Media, Gospel Greats, and Godsey Media.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve the Southern Gospel Promoters Association and to build on the work of those who have led this organization before me,” said Scott Godsey. “The mission of the SGPA is important to the future of Southern Gospel music. Our promoters are a vital part of connecting artists with audiences, and I look forward to working with our members to strengthen the association, encourage one another, and help Southern Gospel music continue to reach people across the country.”
Paul Pitts has served as president of the SGPA for over 6 years and has been an active leader in the association for many years. During his tenure, the association thrived and continued its work of bringing promoters together, providing resources and information, and creating opportunities for professional development among the members.
“I’m grateful for the opportunity to have served as president and to have worked alongside so many wonderful people in this industry and association,” said Paul Pitts. “I’m not stepping away from the music I love. I look forward to continuing to be involved and supporting the artists, promoters, and friends who make Southern Gospel music so special.”
The Southern Gospel Promoters Association was organized to help, encourage, and provide information to concert promoters while bringing members together as a unified body to strengthen the concert arena. The association provides resources, industry information, contract support, meetings, showcases, and opportunities for promoters to connect and work together. SGPA currently holds events in conjunction with major Southern Gospel gatherings, including the Memphis Quartet Show and the National Quartet Convention.
Under its new leadership, the association will continue its commitment to supporting Southern Gospel promoters while expanding communication, collaboration, and opportunities throughout the industry. Godsey said the focus will remain on strengthening relationships between promoters, artists, agencies, and the broader Southern Gospel community.
The new SGPA Executive Board is:
Scott Godsey — President
