Last Sunday we celebrated our 42nd Annual Company Summer Party. Every picture turned out well - we are happy and good looking group!

There are some special events that took place on Sunday and I’d like to share...

The 2024 recipient of the
Edward G “Pete” Hoffman Award of Excellence, Leadership and Innovation is Carl Breznai.

Carl wasn’t able to attend the party this year so we got “innovative” and presented the award to him via FaceTime!

Each year for the past 9 years we have had a Safety Slogan Contest in memory of Mike Gardner. Mike was one of a kind. He has worked as our company’s insurance broker for 20 years before he retired from Insurance and came to work at GUARDRAILS 8 hours a week! I always say, “He did more in those 8 hours than most can do in 40”.

“Mr. Doom and Gloom”as I affectionately referred to him (he was an insurance guy)was instrumental in setting us up to make the tremendous changes we have made in our safety program over the past many years. I am confident that he is looking down at me and Darlene and is smiling.

This year Ron Wosk came up with the winning safety slogan.

Safety is everyone’s business

Every year we give the school aged kids some cash 💰 they can use for whatever they may need: books, supplies….

My heart is happy! 🎉 What a wonderful time we ALL had at the annual GUARDRAILS Holiday Company Party! 🌟

A special highlight was celebrating milestone anniversaries—Marion Edler and Susan Friend Hartman marked 5 years, Andrew Paul, Tony Lannister Bailey, and Arnold Pudder hit the impressive 10-year mark, Eric Hutson celebrated 15 years, and Gary Dellinger and Ron Ashton celebrated a remarkable 20 years of service to GUARDRAILS. 🙌 I most enjoyed talking a little bit about each person. Sharing stories of their professional and personal growth since joining the company, it was truly heartwarming.

And of course we had our customary employee raffle! Thanks to Darlene being gifted in the shopping and party planning department we had great prizes, delicious food,a festive environment and lots of laughter and sincere appreciation. It couldn’t have been a better day. Thank you Darlene for all you do for each and every one of us! And a special thank you to Kathy Walter-Shuler for once again making her GUARDRAILS famous shrimp salad for us. Your shrimp salad has become a much anticipated staple at our holiday party!

Wishing you all a magical holiday vacation week filled with joy, warmth, and precious moments with loved ones. I encourage you to embrace the festive spirit, savor the celebrations, and don’t forget to indulge in some well-deserved relaxation. May this week be a time of renewal and joy.

Feeling grateful tonight!

Every year since 1982 we have given our employees a Thanksgiving Turkey - this year we also gave them everything for a complete Thanksgiving dinner 🥘 …from cranberry sauce, white potatoes , sweet potatoes , mini marshmallows, gravy, green beans and everything needed to make the traditional Thanksgiving greenbean casserole even the crunchy onions to put on top, fresh rolls from the bakery, pumpkin or apple pie, whipped cream and a pound of butter! Also some fun activities to do with the family… UNO and a deck of playing cards.

What a day we had!! The weather was perfect, the venue was beautiful and the company was top notch! It was wonderful to celebrate 41 years in business with employees, family and friends.

This just a small preview of some pictures from the day. I will post the professional ones when I receive them.

At the end are two videos with a little history of the company and some obstacles that my mom, faced when starting the business and the second is a little background of the award I have created in my dad’s honor.
