We believe that great wine should be a true expression of land and time, and that it's achieved only through holistic farming and honest wine-making. For over three decades and through two generations, our family has been dedicated to farming wine in the Hills of Dundee Oregon.

We’re grafting at Holstein Estate, and it doesn’t happen often.

Chardonnay has become central to what we’re pursuing at Granville. Planted at Nova Ridge Estate in the Dundee Hills, and now we’re bringing it back to where it all started.

This block at Holstein has been Pinot Noir since the late-90s. Same rootstock. Nearly three decades in the ground, now grafted over to Chardonnay.

It was only a matter of time.

The season has begun. Bud break in the Dundee Hills arrived April 1st through 5th depending on site, varietal, and clone. No better moment to evaluate our soils and cover crop success.

This year we grew particularly robust, fibrous crops, some with tap roots, working to aerate the soil horizon, build structure, and support pollination habitat. More than anything, we’re proud of how alive these Holstein Estate parcels are. Wild and effusive with energy.

Fully absent of the herbicides far too many have become dependent on. Perhaps one day our entire region will stand up and reject synthetic applications to the soil that sustains us in more ways than wine.

Every bottle of our traditional method sparkling has passed through at least twenty sets of hands. From tirage bottling to riddling, disgorging, topping, corking, labeling, and packing.

Now the bottles are resting, to be released later this year.

The devil is in the details. Stay tuned.

This was a year that deepened us. Roots went down. Tables filled. The work continued.

We started January planting instead of pruning. Cold, dry, sunny days allowed us to plant another 1.5 acres of Pinot Noir at Nova Ridge Estate in the Dundee Hills. A field blend of four clones were mixed by hand and tucked into cold earth.

In February, we took over stewardship of DUX Vineyard, a renowned Dundee site with its own quiet geological voice.

Later in the year, a chance came to expand Granville’s story at the top of our hill, with wild and untamed woodland that deserves to be preserved.

We’re reminded that everything is connected: the land, the work, the people who show up for it, the community we build together. From long tables under open skies to intimate moments shared over a glass, these gatherings reminded us why we do this work.

As we close out the year, we’re grateful. To everyone who chooses to support small producers, who cares where your wine comes from, who raises a glass with intention: thank you.

Wishing you a happy solstice and a joyful holiday season.

We’re taking some time to recharge and will be closed for tastings Dec 23rd - Dec 26th and Dec 31st - Jan 1.

See you in the New Year!
