Important Service Update: Shipping Delays & End of Individual Sales
Dear Customers,
We’d like to inform you about recent policy changes impacting international shipping—and how we’re adjusting our operations in response.
1. New Tariff Policies Are Causing Major Shipping Delays
As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. has officially ended the longstanding “de minimis” exemption, which previously allowed low‑value foreign packages (under $800) to enter duty‑free. Now, these shipments are subject to tariffs ranging from 10% to 50%, or flat fees between $80–$200 per shipment.
This abrupt change has created widespread disruptions:
• International carriers and postal services in over 30 countries—including the U.K., France, Germany, India, and Japan—have suspended or restricted shipments to the U.S., citing logistics complexities and regulatory uncertainty.
• Shipping delays, order cancellations, and slowed customs processing are being reported widely. Small and midsize merchants—like those on Etsy—are particularly affected due to limited capacity to handle increased compliance costs.
2. Legal Uncertainty Around Tariffs Adds to the Chaos
A recent federal appeals court ruling declared much of the Trump administration’s tariff authority under emergency powers illegal—but those tariffs remain in effect at least until October 14, 2025 while the case heads to the Supreme Court.
This legal limbo is generating further operational uncertainty for both domestic and international partners.
⸻
What This Means for You
• Expect delays: Shipping times for small international parcels may significantly increase as carriers and customs adapt.
• Rising costs: Tariffs, handling fees, and compliance expenses are likely to be passed down—either directly or indirectly—to consumers.
• Limited availability: Some products from overseas suppliers may become unavailable, delayed, or canceled as sellers reassess shipping viability.
⸻
Update to Our Operations: No More Individual Sales
Effective immediately, we will no longer offer individual-item sales, due to the following:
• Disrupted shipping channels—making timely deliveries increasingly difficult.
• Complex tariff compliance—imposing unpredictable costs and administrative hurdles.
• Protecting customer experience—shifting away from individual orders allows us to focus on smoother, bulk-based logistics moving forward.
⸻
