Our team enjoyed spending the evening in Denver connecting with industry leaders and sharing the story of Southeast Oklahoma. Every relationship built is another opportunity to create awareness, strengthen partnerships, and position our region for future success.

Big news in Durant! 🎉

The City of Durant and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma are proud to announce the renaming of Big Lots Boulevard to Chahta Way.

This new name honors the rich heritage, history, and continued presence of the Choctaw people in our community and reflects the strong partnership we share with the Choctaw Nation.

Chahta Way stands as a lasting symbol of respect, collaboration, and shared growth for the future of Durant and southeastern Oklahoma. 💙

The Choctaw Nation Health Services Authority (CNHSA) and Indian Health Services (IHS) have entered into a joint venture partnership to build a new health clinic in Hugo!

The clinic will be over 100,000 square feet and is targeted for completion in about three years.

In addition to services already provided in the current 50-year-old facility, the additional space will allow for more services to be provided to any Tribal member.

Additional services will include pediatrics, enhanced radiology and therapy services, and other specialty providers.

You never know where you’ll find connections to home.

While attending an economic development course in Denver this week, our ED team spotted a telecommunications box carrying the name of Oldcastle, a company with operations right in Poteau.

It’s a reminder that local businesses are often part of something much bigger. The companies investing in our communities help build infrastructure, create jobs, and leave their mark far beyond southeastern Oklahoma.

Pretty neat to see a familiar name nearly 700 miles from home.
