ICardinalBlue 🇺🇸 – Leading the Fight to Repeal Utah’s Proposition 4
At ICardinalBlue, we didn’t just show up — we delivered. Our team proudly gathered well over 1,000 signatures in support of repealing Utah’s Proposition 4. As Republicans, we stood firm in our belief that government must remain accountable to the people and rooted in constitutional principles.
Proposition 4 was originally passed as a voter-approved independent redistricting reform. However, many conservatives felt that its implementation shifted too much authority away from elected legislators — the representatives directly accountable to voters — and into the hands of an unelected commission. From a Republican perspective, that raised serious concerns about transparency, constitutional balance, and preserving representative government.
We supported repeal because:
• Accountability Matters – Elected officials answer to voters. When redistricting authority is moved away from legislators, it can weaken direct democratic accountability.
• Constitutional Authority – The U.S. Constitution grants state legislatures authority over elections. Many conservatives believed maintaining that structure was essential.
• Preventing Judicial & Bureaucratic Overreach – Republicans often advocate limiting unelected bodies from holding binding power over core governmental processes.
• Protecting the Legislative Process – Redistricting is inherently political. We believed it should remain in the hands of those elected to make political decisions, not advisory panels with unclear enforcement power.
Our campaign was about more than signatures. It was about defending the framework of representative democracy and ensuring that voters retain the ultimate authority through the officials they elect.
At ICardinalBlue, we believe grassroots action wins. Gathering over 1,000 signatures demonstrated that conservatives across Utah were engaged, motivated, and ready to shape the future of their state.
This was not just a petition drive — it was a movement grounded in principle, faith in the Constitution, and commitment to Republican values.
