This week, we’re spotlighting Hailey Falish, who has been part of KBI for the past two years. As a key connection point between our commercial teams, clients, and internal experts, Hailey helps turn early conversations into well-coordinated opportunities and lasting partnerships.

Hailey works closely with our Business Development team across the full client journey, from prospecting and conferences to onboarding and ongoing relationship management. She coordinates across Marketing, Legal, Finance, and SMEs to keep opportunities moving, while managing client communications, contracts, follow-up, and the details that keep our commercial efforts organized. By connecting the right people and details, Hailey creates strong client relationships that drive our business forward.

What makes the work especially meaningful to Hailey is knowing where those relationships can lead. Many of KBI’s clients are developing new therapies with the potential to improve patients’ lives. Being part of those conversations from the beginning gives Hailey a front-row seat to the journey from an initial business conversation to helping a program move closer to patients.

Over the past year, Hailey has expanded her responsibilities and deepened her knowledge, giving her the opportunity to take on new challenges. She’s energized by finding better ways to work and seeing how her efforts can make a meaningful difference for both our clients and our teams.

Outside of KBI, Hailey enjoys anything that helps her explore and recharge. You might find her at a local theater production, trying the craziest thing on the menu at a new restaurant, or exploring nature. She’s especially drawn to water, whether that means relaxing by the lake, chasing waterfall trails, paddleboarding, or boating.

This week, we’re spotlighting Jacob Ostler, Senior Manufacturing Associate I at our Boulder site!

Behind every life-changing therapy is a team of people dedicated to getting the details right, and Jacob is one of those team members. As part of the Manufacturing team, he supports daily operations across both small-scale and large-scale production. For Jacob, the most meaningful part of the work is knowing that what happens inside the plant can ultimately help people who may have limited treatment options.

Jacob is excited to take on new challenges and continue to grow his expertise, including earning his Six Sigma Green Belt certification and expanding his skills in manufacturing excellence.

Outside of work, Jacob enjoys snowboarding, hiking, camping, cooking, and spending time outdoors with his dog, Rory, a black lab mix who loves swimming, hiking, and peanut butter pretzels.

As Pride Month comes to a close, we're proud to recognize David Self, Director of Corporate Communications, as our Team Member Tuesday feature to celebrate the impact he has made at KBI over the past three years.

David leads KBI’s Corporate Communications function, overseeing internal, external, and executive communications, corporate brand, and public relations. His team helps highlight our people and expertise to connect with employees, showcase KBI's capabilities, and build awareness with current and future customers. If you've ever engaged with us on LinkedIn, explored our website, or listened to a leader podcast, you've likely experienced the work of David and his team!

For David, Pride Month is a celebration of authenticity, resilience, and the freedom to live openly. He reflects on the fact that coming out is not a single moment, but an ongoing experience that happens throughout life as he meets new colleagues, leaders, clients, and communities. He believes that visibility matters and that sharing our stories can help foster a more inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and empowered to be themselves.

Outside of work, you'll usually find David in search of a crispy Diet Coke, snacking on sour candy, trying a new hobby even if it only lasts a day or two (pickleball, we’re looking at you), or relaxing at home with his two cats, Beau and Row.

This week, we're featuring Yvonne Kennedy, Senior Benefits Analyst, who has been helping support KBI team members for the past two years!

Yvonne oversees our benefits programs at KBI, making sure they run smoothly, stay compliant, and remain accessible to employees. She also works to improve processes, strengthen vendor partnerships, and provide employees with the information they need to make informed decisions for themselves and their families.

What Yvonne enjoys most about her work is helping employees navigate benefits so they can stay focused on advancing life-changing science. She's currently focused on expanding wellness resources and creating new tools that make benefits information easier to understand and use.

Outside of work, Yvonne enjoys researching crystals, gemstones, and jewelry-making as she plans for a future retirement business. She also loves camping in Colorado, spending time with her husband of 16 years, and keeping up with her four pets: three energetic Australian Shepherds and a very laid-back Maine C**n cat named Loki.

Meet this week’s , Cole McMullin, Process Development Scientist I, based at our Venture Center facility in Durham, NC. Cole develops the purification processes that transform harvested cell culture material into clean, safe drug substances ready for manufacturing.

One of the things Cole appreciates most about working at KBI is the opportunity to tackle a wide variety of molecules and scientific challenges. He particularly enjoys the hands-on work involved in chromatography-based purification, an area closely tied to his background in biochemistry.

"What I value most about the work at KBI is the opportunity to apply and expand my background in biochemistry to real-world processes," Cole shares. "Each molecule presents unique challenges, which keeps the work interesting."

Outside of work, Cole enjoys tending to his balcony garden and spending time with Maximus, his 11-year-old cat. Maximus loves cuddling with his mom, roughhousing with his dad, and lounging among the plants in the garden.

Meet Jason Tickle, our this week! Jason is a Manufacturing Associate II at our Hamlin Road facility and has been with KBI for about a year and a half, or, as he prefers to measure it, roughly 46 million seconds and counting.

As part of the manufacturing team, Jason helps support large-scale cell culture operations, including media preparation, bioreactor monitoring, sampling, and batch ex*****on. While he jokingly describes himself as a "biotech wizard" wrangling a 2,000-liter bioreactor, what he enjoys most is knowing that the work his team does helps create therapies that can make a real difference for patients.

One of Jason's most memorable moments at KBI was hearing recognition for the team's hard work over the loud speakers from site leadership. It was a simple moment, but one that reminded him how much the team's efforts matter and how many people contribute to every successful batch.

When Jason's not supporting manufacturing operations, he's raising chickens and ducks on his farm, exploring sustainable energy projects, preparing for his annual trip to Burning Man, or being entertained by Dash, his movie-star-esque dog whose dramatic zoomies and endless confidence keep farm life interesting.

This Team Member Tuesday, we’re celebrating Matt Charlett, Automation Engineer III at KBI’s Boulder facility!

As part of the Facilities Engineering team, Matt works on the automation systems that support our manufacturing facility. His role includes programming equipment control systems, resolving technical issues, and designing new improvements that help teams work more efficiently. Matt’s work helps create reliable processes and supports the day-to-day manufacturing environment at KBI.

One of Matt’s favorite things about KBI is the collaboration across teams. In his role, he partners with associates across Manufacturing, Science & Technology, Validation, Quality, Facilities, and Supply Chain, and says the people and shared sense of purpose are what make KBI stand out.

“There’s a culture here where the focus on quality of life and the patients behind every product is felt and shared at every level,” Matt shared. “That connection is something I’m reminded of every day, and it’s what makes the work genuinely meaningful to me.”

Outside of work, Matt enjoys working on projects around the house and yard, watching Flyers hockey and F1, and spending time outdoors hiking and skiing. He’s also a proud dog dad to Chloe, his 7-year-old mini goldendoodle.
