✨ Meet Stephanie Bauer, founder of Amor + Pyaar Candles in the Bronx, New York!
Amor + Pyaar was born at the intersection of healing, gratitude, and culture. The brand’s name brings together two words for love, amor in Spanish and pyaar in Hindi, reflecting Stephanie’s Latina and Desi heritage and the idea at the heart of everything she creates:
“When cultures blend, they create something beautiful.”
Stephanie started making candles in 2024 during one of the hardest seasons of her life. After undergoing multiple surgeries, including a bilateral fasciotomy and later a hysterectomy following her experience with endometriosis and adenomyosis, she began making thank-you gifts for the family and friends who supported her through recovery.
One of those gifts was a recovery candle. People loved it, and encouraged Stephanie to keep going. That candle became The OG, and the beginning of Amor + Pyaar Candles. 🕯️
Today, Stephanie describes herself as a “one-person powerhouse,” with some much-appreciated help from her mom and husband. Through scent, she creates products inspired by the cultures, flavors, memories, and experiences that make up who she is, like the Mango Lassi room spray pictured here. 🥭
CandleScience has been part of her journey from the beginning, helping make the science, testing, and seemingly endless possibilities of candle making feel a little less overwhelming.
“It’s like college for candles lol.”
And we’ll absolutely take that. 🥹 Stephanie especially loves our Sonoma Tumblers, which have become the backbone of Amor + Pyaar’s new look, along with fragrance oils that help her turn an idea into something you can actually smell.
