This month’s Salon is an invitation to have the money conversations we need to have and develop a more honest, empowered, and values-aligned relationship with money.

Together, we’ll explore what shapes our beliefs about worth, money, and possibility — and how we can live and lead with greater self-trust, abundance, and liberation.

Come prepared to share your own challenges around thinking expansively about money and owning your worth.

Our Women’s Leadership Salons are intercultural, intergenerational gatherings for women and gender nonbinary people who want to explore, elevate, and reimagine women’s leadership in beloved community. These are not traditional networking events or lectures. They are spaces for reflection, connection, peer learning, mutual elevation, and collective leadership reimagining.

Our theme: Worth More. We’re exploring the money conversations we aren’t having and need to have. We'll discuss the ways our beliefs about our worth shape the choices we make and what it takes to believe we are Worth More.
This gathering is an invitation to move beyond simply earning, spending, and managing money to exploring the deeper beliefs and questions that shape our relationship with money and enable us to claim our worth:

🪷 How is that belief showing up in my life and leadership?

Our relationship with money is never only about money. It is connected to our identities, cultures, family systems, dreams, systemic and individual limitations, and sense of worth and belonging. As women professionals navigating leadership roles, we may be skilled at negotiating for others, managing organizational budgets, and making strategic financial business decisions, while still avoiding personal introspection and growth around our personal relationship with money.

We make decisions about our resources every day—what we ask for, accept, give away, and invest in, and what we believe is possible for ourselves. We’ll discuss how we’re claiming our worth and resourcing ourselves so that we’re working from a place of strength and capacity. Together, we’ll develop a more honest, empowered, and values-aligned relationship with money so that we can make more intentional financial decisions and live and lead from a place of greater abundance, self-trust, and freedom.

It's truly my honor of a lifetime to be awarded the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health's Harriet Hylton Barr Alumni Award for outstanding leadership and service. To have my life's work and impact recognized by my students, former professors, and fellow alum of my beloved alma mater is incredibly uplifting. I feel even more inspired to continue carrying on John Lewis' legacy of making "good trouble" and advancing equity, justice, and human rights for all. Thank you all. I am grateful to be in community with such committed global public health leaders who work tirelessly and with the utmost of integrity to realize the human right to health and create the world we all deserve to live in. The U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC)'s Impact Forum 2026 was inspiring and invigorating, as participating actively in our democracy always is! It's been my honor to serve on USGLC's North Carolina Advisory Committee since 2017. USGLC President & CEO Liz Schrayer, congressional, and other leaders from a range of sectors shared important strategies to protect the vital, decades-long investments in U.S. development and diplomacy that strengthen the safety, security, economy, and health of people in the U.S. and around the world.

Our NC delegation advocated for strong, ethical US global leadership and support for U.S. international assistance with the staff of Senator Thom Tillis, Senator Ted Budd, Representative Valerie Foushee, Representative Chuck Edwards, and Representative Virginia Foxx. Our asks:
- Sustain funding for the U.S. International Affairs Budget.
- Establish strong oversight of U.S. international assistance funds.
- Create a bipartisan effort to modernize and strengthen the U.S. international affairs agencies and programs.
