Norroa by GreenLight Bio

Norroa by GreenLight Bio Norroa delivers science-backed varroa mite control to help beekeepers protect honey bee colonies.

Powered by vadescana and leveraging RNA interference (RNAi), Norroa targets a specific protein in varroa mites to stop their reproduction while keeping bees safe and supporting overall hive health. Field trials have shown long-lasting mite control with one treatment and no negative impact on bee health or brood production. Designed to fit into modern hive management practices, Norroa offers a new mode of action and practical, sustainable mite control for beekeepers.

🐝 Meet Adam! 🥁

Adam grew up around agriculture in North Dakota, but his first love was music. As an accomplished drummer, he performed across the country playing nearly every genre imaginable while earning undergraduate degrees in Music and Fisheries & Wildlife Biology. He recently completed his Master’s in Biology as well.

Adam began working with bees as an apiary inspector in North Dakota in 2018. At the time, he jokes that he “had 800,000 colonies” because inspecting bees was his full time job, long before he started keeping his own colonies a little over a year ago.

He has always had a passion for conservation and the outdoors. When he’s not working with bees, you’ll probably find him hunting, hiking, fishing, camping, cooking, or still playing drums with his band.

One of Adam’s favorite parts of the beekeeping industry is connecting with beekeepers from across the country and hearing the different challenges and experiences each season brings.

If you see Adam at a conference or convention this year, make sure to stop by and say hello 👋🐝

What separates strong operations from the rest? 🐝

From the field:

“Consistency is everything when you are managing large numbers of hives.”

Mites reproduce continuously as long as brood is present. Maintaining consistent control across brood cycles helps prevent:
• Population spikes
• Late season losses
• Reactive treatment cycles

At scale, consistent control supports:
• Predictable performance
• Easier management
• Stronger outcomes across the yard

How are you maintaining consistency across your yards?

Did you know there are more than 3,600 species of bees in North America? 🐝

This World Biodiversity Day, we’re recognizing the important role pollinators play in healthy ecosystems, agriculture, and our food systems.

Native plants like blackberry provide important forage for bees and other pollinators throughout the season.

At Norroa and our parent company GreenLight Bio, we are focused on developing targeted agricultural solutions that support honey bee health while helping reduce harmful chemical pressure across the landscape, benefiting pollinators and biodiversity as a whole.

From the field: 🐝

“Staying ahead of mite pressure is what makes the difference.”

Varroa mites reproduce inside the brood cell. Waiting until levels are high means the population has already expanded.

Proactive control:
• Reduces reproduction
• Slows population growth
• Supports colony strength

If you are unsure about timing, reach out. W e’re happy to help walk through it with you.

As beekeepers, we are stewards not only of honey bees, but of all bee species. 🐝

Supporting healthy honey bee colonies through increased habitat and effective varroa control can help promote plentiful forage and reduce disease pressure on the vulnerable and endangered pollinators that share these ecosystems with us. 🐝

Norroa was designed with simplicity in mind. 🐝

The product label does not require gloves, masks, respirators, or other special PPE for application. Standard long sleeves and pants are required.*

Simply place the pouches inside the brood box, remove the protective sticker covering the perforations, and bees naturally distribute the product throughout the colony.

No complicated setup.
No extra application burden.

Just a simple in hive application designed to fit real beekeeping operations.

*Refer to the product label for complete application instructions and PPE requirements.
