Here's a question we get asked: Why are fines ending up in my overs?
One common cause is excessive bed depth on the screen deck.
When material is loaded too heavily, smaller particles cannot work their way down to the screening surface. Instead, they stay trapped in the material bed and pass over the screen with larger rock.
Signs of excessive bed depth include:
* Dirty oversize material
* Reduced screening efficiency
* Poor product gradation
* Difficulty meeting spec
* Lower screening performance after increasing feed rates
Sometimes the solution isn't feeding more material. It's allowing the screen enough opportunity to separate it.
Remember: Unified maintains the largest inventories of screen media in all of North America.
The better your screening, the less unnecessary crushing you need - you decrease your power usage on your crusher AND your conveyors – reducing wear, downtime and overall plant costs.
Domestic weaving and finishing and a regional presence at our 14 facilities across the U.S. allow us to offer the best service and on-site expertise for all Unified products, including the largest inventories of wear parts.
