She never outgrew crayons. Orange and purple were just following orders: Dare to be Bold.

When this talented cross-stitch artist brought us her Halloween village, she had one dilemma: orange frame or purple frame?

We asked, “Why not both?”

She loved the idea.

Originally, the piece was only going to hang during Halloween. But once she saw the finished frame, she laughed and told us it was staying up all year long.

The decision made perfect sense after hearing her story.

Since she was six years old and first started wearing glasses, she’s embraced color. While some people tried to blend in, she chose colorful frames and spent a lifetime celebrating the things that made her stand out. Along the way, she adopted a personal motto:

Dare to be Bold.

You can see that philosophy in everything she creates.

From whimsical witches, pumpkins, and potion bottles to charming Christmas villages filled with holiday magic, her cross-stitch work is vibrant, joyful, and unapologetically colorful. Every stitch reflects the same spirit she’s carried throughout her life: embrace color, have fun, and don’t be afraid to stand out.

In the end, orange and purple weren’t competing after all.

They were simply following orders.

🎃🧡💜

And thanks to one bold framing decision, Halloween is staying on display long after October has passed.

“Truffle art.”
Of course we had to ask.

Our customer smiled and told us the story behind this piece — while traveling through Provence, they visited a truffle farm tucked into the countryside. Inside the small shop selling truffles and truffle oil, local artists’ work lined the walls. This painting stopped her in her tracks.

Her husband joked, “Well… this memory will last longer than the truffle oil.”

Honestly, he’s probably right.

Now this little piece of Provence — the color, the light, the feeling of discovering something unexpected while traveling — gets to live on their wall every day, framed in a warm rustic moulding that feels as timeless as the story itself.

That’s the beauty of art collected while traveling.
It becomes more than décor. It becomes a place, a moment, a memory you get to keep.

Something about Minneapolis artist Suzanne Simmalavong’s work spoke to him immediately — the movement, emotion, color, and energy of it.

For his first original artwork, he invested not only in the piece itself, but in archival-quality custom framing designed to protect it and elevate how it lives in his home for years to come.

He wanted the rich blue tones from the artwork echoed subtly throughout the frame design, creating something bold, contemporary, and thoughtfully suited to his space.

There’s something meaningful about starting a collection this way.Not just decorating a wall — but choosing pieces that reflect who you are and surrounding yourself with art that moves you.

Great art transforms a room. And the right frame transforms the way you experience the art.

Here’s to first original works, meaningful spaces, and collecting with intention. ✨

Some things are more than artifacts — they are witnesses to history.

This World War II “blood chit” belonged to our client’s grandfather and was carried as part of his military survival kit while serving overseas. Printed in multiple languages depending on the region, these cloth panels were meant to help Allied servicemen communicate with civilians if they were lost, stranded, or captured behind enemy lines.

The creases, frayed edges, and worn fabric tell their own story — one of courage, uncertainty, sacrifice, and service far from home.

For Memorial Day, we were honored to help preserve not just a piece of history, but a family legacy. 🇺🇸

Today, we thank all who served for the freedoms we hold dear, and we honor the families who continue to support, remember, and keep the stories of their loved ones and their sacrifices alive.

Wishing everyone a meaningful Memorial Day.

Some stories deserve more than storage. They deserve a place of honor.

The Force led this lucky collector to a legendary garage sale treasure.

This wasn’t just a vintage Star Wars poster — it was Revenge of the Jedi.

Before the title became Return of the Jedi, early promotional posters were printed under the original name… then recalled when George Lucas decided “revenge” wasn’t the Jedi way.

Decades later, one survived its way to a garage sale.

To honor both the artwork and the story behind it, we paired it with bold orange and black matting that pulls directly from the original poster palette and gives the entire piece that unmistakable cinematic energy.

We helped preserve it behind conservation glass so the story — and the galaxy attached to it — lasts for years to come. Conservation framing helps shield collectible pieces from UV fading, paper brittleness, discoloration, environmental wear, and the slow loss of detail that happens over time when paper is exposed to light and air.

Because pieces like this deserve more than storage.
They deserve to survive.

Calling all Vikings fans — you remember this moment.

The Minneapolis Miracle.
The catch.
The roar.
The absolute disbelief that turned into chaos across Minnesota in a matter of seconds.

But for these fans, it became something even more personal.

As longtime season ticket holders, they didn’t just witness history — they received a piece of it. After the game, the Vikings cut sections of turf from the field to commemorate the moment for fans who were there when it happened.

We honored that story in a custom shadowbox designed to let the turf speak for itself. A crisp white mat background makes the green and painted lettering jump forward, while black side spacers create depth and subtly contain the natural shedding of the turf.

Not just sports memorabilia.
A physical piece of one of the greatest moments in Minnesota sports history.

SKOL forever.

Some people advocate with words.
Some advocate with action.
And some quietly spend years doing both — long before anyone notices.

We were honored to frame this signed Minnesota legislation for Schmitty & Sons, a company that does far more than safely transport children to and from school each day. They also stand behind the scenes advocating for laws that help protect them once they step on the bus.

The work may happen in committee rooms and late meetings, but its impact rides every morning through our communities.

Framed simply and intentionally in a deep black moulding with a fine gold accent — because some pieces deserve dignity, restraint, and respect.

Here’s to the people who keep Minnesota’s children safe not only on the road, but through leadership that helps shape it.

“Some souvenirs end up in a drawer.
Others bring an entire corner of Bali home

Discovered in Bali and impossible to forget — this incredible canvas is overflowing with movement, jungle texture, village life, layered rice fields, and the kind of color that pulls you in from across the room.

Paired with the organic warmth of the Larson-Juhl Kyoto Natural curved cap frame, the whole piece feels like a window into another world.

Not just art.
A little bit of Bali living permanently on the wall.
