Sometimes the best stories begin with one simple word: Yes.
Thirty-one years ago, a coworker who flew planes asked if she’d like to go flying.
She said yes.
What she didn’t know was that “going flying” included aerobatics.
Terrifying.
Exhilarating.
Completely unforgettable.
When she got home, she wanted to hold onto the memory. So she gathered photographs from the adventure and created this collage—a handmade reminder of a day when she stepped outside her comfort zone and discovered something wonderful on the other side.
Then life happened.
The collage was carefully stored away and remained tucked safely in a closet for 31 years.
Recently, she found it again.
When she came to pick up the finished framing, she became emotional.
Not just because she remembered the flight.
But because she realized what that collage represented.
She told us she was proud of the life she has lived. Proud that she has always tried to be a “yes girl”—someone who looks for possibility, who gets to yes when opportunities appear, and who is willing to embrace adventure even when it feels a little scary.
Looking at this piece wasn’t just remembering one airplane ride.
It was seeing a lifetime of yes.
To experiences.
To opportunities.
To growth.
To adventure.
To life itself.
To honor the original collage, we preserved the bold red mat she chose all those years ago and framed it in silver and black, a subtle nod to the aircraft that inspired the memory.
Some memories make us smile.
Some remind us who we were.
And every once in a while, one reminds us who we’ve been all along.
✈️ Here’s to a life filled with yes.
