Slipcovers by Shelley

Slipcovers by Shelley I have been making slipcovers for clients along the Wasatch Front for the past 22 years. Custom made slipcovers for your furniture.

These slipcovers are custom fitted with piping, separate cushion covers, and fully removeable so you can clean them.

My client had this wicker ottoman with no cushion.

Quick little project to make it useable.

Darling plaid fabric. Foam and batting wrap enclosed in a muslin cover. And discreet zipper on the side, so it’s flippable.

it’s now a useable footstool for her husbands tv chair. Comfortable for him and cute for her. ❤️

My client wanted this loveseat updated with a new slipcover.

Lots of pattern matching and preplanning went into this loveseat, and I’m happy with how it turned out. And so was she! ❤️

My client wanted to slipcover her couch, because it was getting threadbare in spots.

I told her was having an end of the year sale. She chose an 11oz oatmeal fabric, that should hold up for years.

She liked the idea of a box pleat skirt, to add a little detail.

I absolutely loved how it turned out. The simplicity plus the details. She immediately had me add her back on to my waitlist to do her chair and ottoman. ❤️

Her husband also loved that “it looks like a couch and not a slipcover”. 👏🏻

My client wanted some more upright tv chairs for her husband, but still wanted them to be cute.

She found these wingbacks secondhand. I told her they needed a separate seat cushion to work with the slipcovers.

So she said she’d take care of it. She slit the seat fabric and pulled the foam out. Haha!

She chose fabric that reminded her of her mom who had just passed away. It’s Holmes wedgewood by Folio.

She first showed me an inspiration pic with a short gathered skirt. After I brought them back, she wasn’t quite sold on the short skirt. They were darling but not a fit her space. We replaced the skirt with a tall skirt to the floor, and that was more her vibe. ❤️

We decided we are gonna start using our St. George property in the fall of 2026.

I’ve started thrifting pieces to furnish the townhome.

I found this pair of Gunlock mid century chairs at my local thrift store. They just looked like boring office chairs until I pulled them out and saw the curve of the back. ❤️❤️❤️

I stripped the fabric off, replaced the disintegrated foam and found some thrifted fabric in my stash.

Fabric was TIGHT!! I had to the inch what I needed. Tender mercy! I was left with only a tiny rectangle.

I am beyond excited about how these turned out! I typically don’t upholster, so I wasn’t sure how they’d look.

The backs had a tack strip thing that was a nightmare and didn’t work out. I ended up hand sewing the strip of fabric all the way around the back piece on both sides. Labor of love.

My client had these high quality chairs from Black Goose that she’s owned for awhile. They were no longer her style.

She found this great textured cream fabric that I LOVED! So pretty in person.

I add shortened the skirt height and removed the camelback on the back cushion to give it a different look.

We decided to add arm pads to prolong the life of the slipcover and the ability to just wash the arm pads if needed.

My client gave me the biggest ottoman I’ve ever seen. 54”x54”. She chose a darling buffalo check (P Kauffman) from and wanted a triple pleat in each corner inspired by .

She also gave me a bunch of darling fabrics for 20 pillows. Lots of darling ruffles, French welt, and contrasting piping. It was fun to work with all her pretty fabrics from

This free jacket has been in my mending pile for over a year. It fit super cute, but the lining was destroyed. The sleeves were shredded.

I unpicked the sleeves to make a pattern, but then found my grandma’s blouse that I had previously cut up, but the sleeves were still in tact. 👏🏻

I cut the sleeves off the blouse and set them in the jacket instead. They fit perfect! So easy! No cutting, hemming, etc. I sewed the finished blouse cuffs to the jacket cuffs.

I seamed up the other holes in the grey lining. And wore it to church today. ❤️

I did a bunch of eclectic pillows for my client about a month ago, then she decided her little leather ottoman stools weren’t matching the vibe.

We used some of the leftover fabric to slipcover each one differently. I wouldn’t have thought to do them in different fabrics, but I absolutely loved the way they turned out. ❤️

We were gifted a bag of clothes. For some reason I couldn’t pass up the tuxedo shirt, even though it didn’t look good on me. 😂

I thought I’d try to rework it.

I cut off the stiff collar that stood up. Traced out a Peter Pan collar off another shirt I own.

I strategically cut the new collar out of the bottom of the shirt, hoping there would be enough length left.

I hemmed the bottom after shaping it and replaced the buttons with some out of my vintage collection .

I’m still debating on the sleeves. Leave them rolled up? Hem them shorter? I’ll leave them for now. Do you have something in your giveaway pile to

I redid this chair 20 plus years ago for my client, and it was time for a new cover.

It was her grandparents chair, she had photos of when she was a child and the chair was in the background. Solid chair and still going strong. ❤️

She ordered the 10oz cotton canvas from .. She opted for a set of arm pads to prolong the life of the cover.

I’ve settled back into normal life post summer craziness! It feels good to have a routine again.

I’ve been thinking about making this thrifted sheet into a dress since June.

I played around with the sleeves, and made a new pattern for them. I utilized the original tuck seams at the top of the sheet for the edging on the sleeves.

And as always, a great dress needs pockets. So I added those too. ❤️

The skirt is 1.5x width on each gathered section. And I fully self lined the bodice to eliminate facings for the neck, and to give it a little more structure.
