Hello everyone just touching base we appear to have made it through another winter storm. It didnt slow anything down though I am anxious to get a wash on the vans that lasts more then a few hours. Thanks to everyone who understood any delays had during this time. It appears at least for time being that most places are cleared enough. I would like to take a moment to thank all of our funeral homes that use us on the regular and keep the doors open.

To our Funeral Homes,
We hope this message finds you safe and warm as we prepare for this upcoming bad weather. We want to update you on our plans going into this weekend, and what to expect from us these next few days. We will remain OPEN and operational using generator power if needed. While some phone lines may be unreliable, we will be monitoring all modes of communication and will respond as quickly as possible. If you come down and can't get in touch, please bang on the garage door (the dogs will alert us of your arrival). Due to weather related challenges, our crematory may be operating at a slightly diminished capacity for a short period of time. If this happens, we will keep everybody informed. We also have a fully functioning cold storage, allowing us to continue to care for those entrusted to us without interruption.
Regardless of difficult conditions, our priority remains providing steady and respectful care to everybody in our community. We are here and committed to supporting you during this time, if you run into any questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us.

Warm regards,
The Burton Mortuary Team

Hello everyone, welcome to the weekly newsletter. Normally, we share birthdays and funeral-related news, but today's update is a little different. As most of you know, my daughter Carolann Kregel is getting married in nine days. We are in full wedding mode both at the office and at home. We are fortunate to have some wonderful Directors stepping in to cover for us so we can focus all our energy on her. Thank you, Jamie Daniel and Todd Vanover, for being there for us and everyone else—you two are amazing, and I am so grateful to you both.

Many years ago, this journey began when Carolann’s mother and I, as young parents, gave her up for adoption, hoping she would have the best life possible. For years, I worried about her, not knowing where she was or how she was doing. Thankfully, she was safe and sound, raised by two wonderful people, Jim and Linda Kregel. After years of searching, I finally found her on Facebook, and after some time, we reconnected. She came to Kentucky to meet the family she didn’t know, and after a brief visit, she decided to pursue a career in the funeral business. We couldn’t have been happier and set about moving her to Kentucky to start mortuary school. Sadly, before the move, her father Jim passed away. Carolann had to learn the importance of what we do in the hardest way, and it deepened her understanding of why we take such care.

That was nearly four years ago, and now we are just nine days away from walking her down the aisle. I never imagined all those years ago that I would one day get to see my baby get married. On October 18th, I not only get to witness her marry the love of her life, but I also have the honor of officiating the ceremony. I couldn’t be more excited for them both. Thank you to everyone who has been so supportive from the beginning. I’ll keep you posted as the wedding day approaches, and we’ll be sure to share plenty of pictures from the big day.

Welcome to the weekly newsletter! 🎆 It’s been a few weeks since the last one, as Carolann has been busy with her wedding just 18 days away. There’s so much to celebrate recently—Jennifer Rafferty and my mother, Suzanne Luckett, both had birthdays! This month also includes birthdays for Justin Bumpus from Vanover Funeral Home, Colby Joe Carver from Tucker Funeral Home, Jamie Renfro from Danks Funeral Home, Jeana Townsend from Townsend Funeral Home, Tom Hemmerle from Barnett-Strother, Bryson Price from Price Funeral Home, and Jason Duvall from Duvall and Moore Funeral Home. So many birthdays and reasons to celebrate! I feel so lucky to know many of these directors, especially since in our line of work, special days can often be overlooked. Happy Birthday to you all! I hope that your day was a special one. If you know any of these Directors please reach out to them and let them know how special they are.
